Hello! I am new to the area and will be delivering my next baby in December at Los Gatos Community Hospital. I am really looking for info, experiences or anything youc an give me about this hospital. From the website it looks nice, but I would love to hear first hand experiences.

I don't have a choice about hospitals, so if you have some horrible experience, please think twice before sharing it :-) I just need some helpful info :-) Also, I will be having a c-section and my OB is Dr. Batanides.

Thanks so much for all your help!!!
M. P.

Hi M.,

I delivered their 4 years ago and I loved it. Sooooo much better than Good Sam. The entire staff was wonderful and they really made you feel comfortable and well taken care of.

You'll love it! Congratulations!

I did not have my baby at LGCH but attended both the breastfeeding support group and new mom group there. I also took my birth classes there. They are wonderful. I would like to have our next child at LGCH however our insurance does not cover it. My mother used to run the entire baby unit over there and said they treat new mommies very well. 2 thumbs up!! Way up!!! The support groups are the Best!

I had my baby in October of 2007. It was a great experience. The nurses are wonderful.Don't worry you have it made there. But if in doubt check it out.

I live very close by to Los Gatos Community Hospital (like within a half a mile) and while I have not delivered a baby there myself, I HAVE been there many many times and have friends that have delivered there.
They are a WONDERFUL hospital - it is small, and has never been crowded even in peak hours in the ER. The staff is SO friendly, and I have always received very prompt medical attention even for a small injury/illness. I have visited this ER from everything from a migraine that won't go away to needing my galbladder removed. I have stayed overnight, and it was as pleasant and experience as one could have when having to stay overnight.
My friends tell me that the maternity ward is small and rarely has more than one or two other women in labor there at a time, so there is really good one on one treatment and care. I am told it is quiet and calm, and because it is a small hospital, you often have no room mate, which NEVER happens at other hospitals.
Make an appointment to tour the maternity ward and check it out for yourself. Overall, I would rate my experiences at this hospital as excellent.

I used to work at Los Gatos Community and my husband was a patient there 2 years ago. I've had 2 c-sections and was new to the area when I had my first, so I know what you're going through. RELAX, the hospital staff is competent and friendly. Hopefully you're comfortable with Dr. Batanides--don't know of her/him--so stop stressing, you'll be fine!
