I am looking for a good excercise tape. I LOVE the old grapevine excercises from years ago. I am not a fan of Zumba. I do like step aerobics. Can any of you rec an excercise video from years ago--or a recent one you like? I walked 5 miles today. I won't walk alone and at times it's hard to find somebody to walk with. Thanks! K.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Ladies,

Thank you for all of the suggestions. I am going to check them out.
I have the Richard Simmons tapes and I love them. I sweat, too !
Thanks Again!
K.
PS It's 53 degrees today. I ended up walking outside in the fresh air. What a winter !

That's easy....
1. All Richard Simmon's tapes - great music, low-impact
2.Kick Butt Kickboxing with Badrino Kocktane - My favorite. All you have to do is the warm up and aerobic part and you see results in 3 months...Sooner if you can do the weight part, killer ab part, and stretching.
3. Cardio Kung Fu with T.J. Storm - absolutely cute guy and fun. Anyone can do it plus you learn self defense at the same time as your workout. The applications video tells you what each move is really for. Great get moving music too. ("Do you wanna be a kung fu master...work hard everyday, work hard everyday....")

I like doing Jillian Michaels videos. Some are short (about 30 minutes) but it will tackle the whole part of your body.

Hi Kristen,

I have two that you may like.

I used The Firm for a long time and the results were awesome! It uses a step and weights. The girls are "real" and easy to follow.

Chalene Johnson has a set of videos called Turbo Jam that are a lot of fun. They're kind of a hybrid between dance, low-impact martial arts and athletics. They can be as low or high impact as you wish and the music is a blast! I also like that they don't require a lot of equipment. I had to drag out a lot of stuff for the Firm workouts (step, weights, weighted bar) but for these I just put on some weighted gloves - they certainly travel easier!

A big plus with both of these systems is that once you learn the basic moves, they use them in the other videos in the series. I really appreciate that ...I hate the "first time" clumsiness of learning a new routine!

Good luck!

If it's an old tape you're looking for and you like walking, I'd suggest the Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds series. I liked those a lot.

I loved The Firm (step aerobics). I was also a big fan of The Method --they do a lot of more dance based, all-in-one workouts.

Lately I've been streaming from Netflix "10 minute solutions" cardio kick-boxing. Great fun.

I use to love Kathy Smith. In fact, I bought her pregnancy workout tape when I got pregnant with my first. She does a lot of plan old aerobics. I'm sure she is still making workout videos.

Kathy Smith's Fat Burning Workout. My library had the CD! The workout is a 30 minute circuit with an optional ten minutes of core. With or without weights. Gets the job done and you feel the burn :-)
