Evening and Weekend Employment for Stay-at-Home Mom Wannabe

Recently we moved to Rockwall, Texas and I am looking for employment sources where I could be able to stay at home during the day and work only nights and/or weekends.

Is there such an animal in existence? I have worked in Dallas for 20+ years and would rather slap myself than go back to the daily 8-5 routine leaving the raising of my baby girl to some else!

What can I do next?

Hi S.,
I am a SAHM to 4 kids, and we are FAR from wealthy! I work as a Pediatric phone triage nurse from home and every Sat AM in the office. I forwarded your info to the founder of PediCall (www.pedicall.com) to see if she may need an admin person- that would all be from home.
I am also a huge coupon shopper/price comparison person (Walmart lets you buy things for any other advertised price. Most of my kids clothes from the Thrift store, but I dare ya' to notice. IF you have the time you can find GREAT deals- I just bought a Baby Lulu dress, which retails for at least $80.00 for a mere $2.50!
If I hear anything from Christie I'll be sure to let you know!
Oh!, check with some of the local MD's- I know the ofice I work with on Sat allows 2 girls to work from home enetering insurance codes atc....

All the Best!

Hi S.,

Have you considered network marketing? I am an Independent Consultant with Arbonne, International, a European skin care company in its 25th year of business. Its my dream to be able to stay at home with my daughter (we are nowhere near being independently wealthy!! :-)) and Im close to getting there. Many ladies in our company are SAHMs and are doing very well. And we will be on Oprah in September! The business is going to explode even more! I would love to send you some information about the business and discuss it with you if you are interested.

I look forward to hearing from you!

I actually don't know any moms who don't work full-time or part-time. Here's what the part-timers do which may give you some ideas:
-Still work old job, just 16-20 hrs
-Mary Kay
-Gift basket business
-homecare
-massage
-cake business

With your background, you could do the books for small business around the schedule of your kids (esp. as they get older). Good luck!

S., I am a stay at home mom and decided to resign from the professional world this past Jan. (teaching high school) due to the birth of my boy. To help supplement our income I have my own Mary Kay business which I have been successful as I want to be. I never in a million years would have thought sales or MK, but it is crazy what the Lord will bring into your life. I only do about 2-4 parties a month and bring in about $800-$1500/month net. I would love to help you out if it is something you would be interested in.

Take care,

A. McKinney

Howdy!

Boy, I know just how it is! I am seeking employment myself, but I am a during the day gal. A couple of suggestions I have for you though is to register with temp agencies, as they can often find employment for people wanting the less desirable shifts (nights & weekends). Monster.com is a great resource for finding placements as well. A job you might consider is being a bank teller. Benefits can be decent, and they love folk who are willing to work weekends. It could be that you could work part time doing that, and part time doing something else. The only industry I know of that definintely seeks people out wanting nights and weekends though is retail. Pay is generally not that great, but depending on what you can find, it might not be that bad.

Hope that helps!

I know it is not your field but perhaps you could work at a local mother's day out program. Usually you can take your kid with you for about 75% off what everyone else pays. The kiddo gets social time and you get paid and get to see/peek on them the whole day. Just an idea.
