ENT Recommendation in Olathe, KS

Eeeks, my pediatrician is recommending my four year old have his tonsils removed.

I've been fighting it because he has problems with asthma and I am afraid without them all of his illnesses will go straight to his lungs, but they are getting too large.

So I'd like a recommendation if anyone has one for this area and I'd like reassurance from you mom's out there who have kids with asthma who had their tonsils out that it didn't make it worse. (My son's trigger seems to be only viral illnesses, so that is increasing my worry).

Thanks.

So What Happened?

OK, it took me almost a year, but I finally set up the apt. with Dr. Metz. The surgery went great, I really prefer Children's Mercy over Olathe but for this surgery they did great. We're on day 13 of the surgery and finally over the hump ...

Dr. Metz convinced me that the Sleep Apnea my son was experiencing was worth the surgery and I think we're starting to see some improvement in behavior now that the surgery is over.

Thanks for the hand holding!!!

She's actually at St. Joseph hospital (435 and State Line) but Ann Robinson from Old Westport ENT is WONDERFUL. She removed 1/2 of my thyroid due to a growth. She is an excellent surgeon and she also is a great ENT. My son (age 14) went to her for allergies also. Haven't dealt with the tonsil issue, but I know she is knowledgeable, friendly and listens.

My son just has his tonsils and adenoids out over the Christmas break. I would definitely recommend our ENT Dr Brian Metz, Midwest ENT at Olathe Med Center Bldg 1. Ph ###-###-####. He really has awesome bedside manner and isnt one of those docs that you feel like they are just trying to get another surgery on the books. We absolutely trusted him. By the way, we already see our son feeling better and less illness this winter!
