Double Stroller...which One?? (3 Yr Old & Newborn)

I'm having a baby boy in December and my daughter will be 3 by then. What we have right now is a single, Jeep Cherokee stroller for my daughter (which I love) and we'll re-use the single Snap N' Go black frame for his carseat at first. I think having a double-stroller might be convenient b/c I like to be out-and-about with my daughter right now and I'd like to try to continue doing "adventures" when I have 2 kids too.
What double-stroller do you recommend????? I sort of like the concept of the "Sit N Stand" ones, but there are a few different models out there. I also don't know about spending around $125-150+ on a stroller!! The only $$ I was earning to help our family will end next week and I'll REALLY have to be watching our extra spending now. I also don't mind shopping around at consignment sales, etc., but just wondering which double-stroller you personally have and liked!!!
Thanks for any help/advise you can give to me...J.

This is the stroller I have and LOVE. It's a Joovy Ultralight Stand On Tandem Stroller.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P229P2

I wouldn't trade it for anything. It is less bulky than most others I've seen and the colors are fun. :) A double stroller is a must! I bought mine on sale at a Burlington Coat Factory a few years ago.

I hope you find a stroller you like at the right price! Good luck!

I have the jeep double stroller (umbrella type) and it is great for my 2.5 and 1.5 year old. I don't know that my 2.5 year old would stand any better than she sits in the one I have now. She'll ride for a bit, walk for a bit, but I can always strap her in and go if I need to. It was cheap and well worth the $89 I spent on it!

I liked the Graco DuoGlider. We had the single one when we had just one child so that style is what I was used too. When my youngest was born, my older two were 17 mo. and 3 1/2 years. I loved being able to pop on the carseat in either seat and still have room for one more buckled in. It also folded up easily and wasn't too heavy. I'd watch for them for sale on craigslist. Now that my kids are 6, 4 and 2 1/2 now, our stroller will get posted there eventually too. You can get some really great deals there.

Hi J.,
I too posted something like this several months ago when I was pregnant with my second. The recommendations were all over the place because everyone LOVED the particular stroller they were in based on their own personal situation...http://www.mamasource.com/request/5512623844403183617

In addition, I did quite a bit of research on the different types of double strollers out there over before I came to a decision that the Baby Trend Double Sit-n-Stand Stroller is the one for MY situation...

http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Trend-Double-Stroller-Skylar/d...

Since my first is 2 years old and my second was just born 12 weeks ago, I want the flexibility that allows my toddler to sit or stand in any of these three spots as he grows:

-- A regular seat (either front or back in this model), just like any tandem double stroller, for his current age and for later on when he's tired and needs a nap

-- The jump seat, for when he's older and doesn't need to nap

-- The standing platform, for when he's older and not needing a nap

I know you are worried about the $180 investment---and I'd prefer not to spend that much either---BUT, this stroller seems that it would last the longest as your kids go through multiple stages.

I hope this helps!

Well I feel like I've tried them all! ")
The tantrum strollers can be a booger to push and turn while two are on board and the side by sides are a pain to get through doors though they can be great outdoors. I ended up finding a nice sit and stand on Craig's list that was in great shape. I love it. Also any of the strollers that have a swivel wheel in front (joggers), though they are a bit bulky they handle great.

Babies R Us has 15% off coupons a lot of times! Almost every time I'm there and buy any little thing I get coupons for 15% off any single item. I bought the Kolcraft Contours double stroller (my son will be 28 months when our baby is born in November), and like it so far (I've taken it our for a couple test runs with my son!). It's more expensive, though, but I saw great reviews online for it (biggest complaint is it's heavy and bulky...but very easy to push around). Either way you go, I would hunt for coupons! I called Babies R Us and asked if they had any, which they did, or you can look at their website.

If you don't want to spend much, check out the upcoming North Dallas MOther of Twins sale. They'll have a ton of double strollers in great shape. I'm a member of the club and would recommend trying that route if you're trying to save $$$. Here's the info: http://sale.ndmotc.org/
