Thnks again for all the great advise.

Do you think Sat. or Sunday afternoon is better? I know in the spring there is soccer and baseball and such on Sat.'s This shower would most likely be April or May. And if it is at a restaurant where a meal will be served is 2:00pm to late?

Thanks everyone!!!!!

What can I do next?

I would do a 2pm shower on a Sunday. Just make sure the food is ready at 2pm so guests can arrive and eat! Sundays are usually less busy and even though we go to church on Sunday it's an easier day for us. Also, I'd love to help you plan your event! Please call me!

I'd do 1:00 for a meal, but 2:00 if you're just doing desserts or cake. You may have more flexibility on a Saturday. We only ever do just cake, so it's always 2:00.
We don't do Sunday showers before 2pm because people eat lunch with their families after church.

People will make an effort to come no matter which day, as long as you give them enough notice. Let the mom-to-be pick the day!

I am sure that no matter what is going on in the guest's lives they can find time to attend a shower for a close friend/relative, so it doesn't matter what time you throw it, make it a time convenient for the mother-to-be!

Also, at 2:00 that's too late for lunch, you can save money by just ordering and serving appetizer platters! Plus you'll still have cake for them to eat. If that isn't enough food, maybe side salads along with the appetizers. Depending on how many people you have, DO NOT be afraid to ask for a discount on this. 10% is 10% saved!

I have thrown a ton of showers this way. It's sort of my speciality!

I personally would not go to a Sunday shower because that for a lot of people is church or family day.

I don't think 2 is too late, just as long as you eat first and don't mess around for hours before the food finally arrives. (trust me, not fun!)
