I have noticed since getting off birth control bills over a year and a half ago I have gained about 15 pounds and have had extreme mood swings. My husband (we works with fertility doctors)mentioned talking to my dr. about hormone therapy componds since when I am on birth control pills I actually lose weight and my moods are much more stable. Anyone with experience in this area I would like to know good or bad experiences. Thanks!

I only take progesterone (to control seizures) so I don't know about the others, but what I do know is that there is a big difference between natural and synthetic progesterone. You want to go with natural. Many people have only heard of natural progesterone coming in the form of creams but now you have the option to take it orally (check though if you have a peanut allergy). There is one company (Solvay) that has a patent on oral natural progesterone, being the only one out there that has been able to capture it for oral use. Its called Prometrium & it is FDA approved.

Hi K., yes there is help! In my office, we use natural, bio-identical hormone creams. It does sound like a hormone imbalance. If you like, you can come in for a complimentary consultation, or I can refer you to someone else who does hormone therapy as well.

Hi K. - I went off b/c years ago and finally last summer found natural stuff that helped me to both lose weight and alleviate mood swings (and sleep better too!).

Message me if you'd like more info.

Hi K.!

Being on the pill for a long time can cause your hormones to be way out of control. I have worked with many women that have gone through hormonal highs and lows. By using natural progesterone creams and/or nutritional supplements we can get you back in balance. We do nutritional testing to determine what is needed to get you back into balance. By getting the hormones stabilized and your thyroid functioning better you will feel better and will typically start to lose the extra weight. If you are intersted please email me or give me a call at ###-###-####. I have an office in Plano and in Mesquite. Thanks!
