Do You Have a City Mini Stroller?

I have a City Mini GT that I just got for my 13 month old. I personally would not put a newborn in it. The straps would not be low enough to secure the child and there is no real padding to keep the baby from rolling side to side. I think this stroller is meant for older kids who have good head and body control. If the seat is reclined you can access the basket from the side. I cannot fit my large Skip-Hop diaper bag underneath. The basket is too small for this and I usually bring a smaller diaper bag.

The city mini is not terribly convenient for an infant. Your best bet is to get a snap and go. That way you can shift the sleeping baby and his car seat onto the base and be on your way.

The city mini is OK as a stroller, its best feature is the one hand fold. It doesn't fold particularly compact. It doesn't have an ample basket. It doesn't come with an adult cup holder, or a kid caddy. It isn't particularly supportive for baby, and our DS, who is just two is a bit too tall for it, his legs hang below the foot rest.

I love mine but did not put my son in it until he was 2. It would be unsafe for a newborn. I think it comes with a disclaimer NOT for infants. It has a small under carriage and I can't get my large purses in it. The one hand fold is amazing and it's pretty lightweight. Great for long walks or outings as it seems pretty comfy. I bought a drink holder for the upper handle as it did not have one. There is no bar to attach toys or a mirror etc for a little one if you like those kind of things. Good luck!

It sounds like you don't own one but are considering buying one? Ask your local mom friends - school, church, playgroups, day care, etc - if anyone has one you can borrow to check it out really well. I have a BOB Revolution Duallie and like most jogging doubles it was an investment. I freely let my mom friends borrow it if they think they might want one. If you don't know anyone with one, go to the zoo or park or playground and stop any mom you see who has the stroller you are looking for. A new mom asking for advice or opinions from more experienced moms is very very rarely turned away without an earful :) And whenever a stranger stops to ask me about mine, I am always willing to let them do a mini test drive, reach around it, and point out my favorite features...while I am right there of course.

they are ok for a newborn-just pay close attention to adjusting the straps.
