Hi all. My son just got off the waitlist for a local week-long day camp for five year olds at a community center. :) There is one kindergarten teacher and nine children. There is support staff at the center, but not for the group. I think this should be fine. Any insights?

Well considering in school there's 1 teacher to 15-25kids i think that ratio is fine.
When my kid went to kindergarten (1/2 day) his teacher had 27 students.
I think 9 should be fine.

In licensed child care the ratio for school aged children from Kindergarten up is 1 teacher to 20 kids.
For 4 year old kids it is 1 teacher to 15 kiddo's. 3 year olds it is 1 teacher to 12 kids, the 2 year old classroom it's 1 teacher to 8 kids. and the toddlers is 1 teacher to 6 kids.
I think that's fine. Figure in a typical kindergarten class, the ratio is at best 20 to 1, and sometimes even higher than that. So a 9 to 1 ratio shouldn't be a problem at all.
