Do any of you have a creative way that you display your Christmas cards at Christmas time, or your child's birthday cards that he/she receives? Usually I just tape them to the back of a door, or a window. Once a long time ago I saw a teacher somehow fasten a bunch of cards together by the part that folds, and they all fanned out. Not exactly sure how she did it though.

I always get a ribbon (Michael's has rolls of holiday ones for a dollar most of the time) and stick it hanging down the wall with a bow on top, then I use decorative cloths pins (kids can paint or just dye them red and green with food coloring) and use the pins to secure the cards down the ribbon.
I have a beautiful Christmas wreath holder that was made by a friend. It has 3 square cork boards hanging down from eachother. Then you use large christmas ribbon. On the backside of the board put the ribbon & attach it with thumbtacks. Leave extra ribbon at the top of the board so you can tie it in a bow or let it hang. I hang it from a hook that has our last initial. If you wanted to decorate the corkboard, you can do lots of things like; wrap it with wrapping paper or paint the corkboard a color. My friend left the dark colored cork and painted large holly berrys all around it. Use thumbtacks to hang your cards on it

Mine was not as cute as Martha Stewarts by any means, but was simple-enough to make!
For the first time last year I hung up 2.5" ribbon and pinned my cards on that. It was a great way to enjoy them for the season I will do it again. I hand two ribbons up one on either side of my french doors over the side lights. A wall would work well too. I just used strait pins to attach the cards to the ribbon. This way they don't clutter valuable counter top space.
I make these for people. I either bind them with 3 ring binder rings (they even come in colors now) or put them in a scrapbook with complimentary colored scrapbook paper as a background! They are super cute and always fun to come back and look at!
Last winter, I bought a wire Christmas card holder in the shape of a Christmas tree. It sits on a table, takes very little space and holds a couple dozen cards. I found it in a thrift store.
In years past, I'm hung decorative fabric ribbons from the staircase, tacked to the bulletin board or taped to the back of a door. Then I pinned the cards to the ribbons.
I have a little tray filled with stones to display greeting cards during the year. The cards set in between the stones and stand up that way. There's only room for 2-3 cards but it looks cute and I leave them up like that for a long time.
