Could This Be H1n1 Flu???

There's a good chance it WAS H1N1... Yes, the media has us all running scared. Kids truly can just get slightly sick with H1N1... My daughter had it too, I believe. Her pediatrician did the nose swab to confirm presence of a flu virus but she said that they do'nt do the specific H1N1 testing because (a) it's not totally accurate and (b) they don't treat it any different than any other flu. Just like all other strains of the flu, if the fever or cough get too bad, then they give more treatment. In a way, I almost consider myself lucky because now my daughter has some natural immunity built up against H1N1!

Most cases of h1n1 are mild. It's only like 1 in every few hundred that gets it really bad, but for that 1 it's often very very severe. That's the one that gets the media attention.

It is possible, but there is also another cold virus that basically mimics the H1N1 that was reported on Channel 2 Fox News about a week and a half ago.

Also - the H1N1 is varying in degrees of mild. The media and CDC has blown it way out of proportion. You will want to watch for any secondary illness. Just like any other infection anyone can have, once the immune system is weakened, a secondary infection can cause more harm.

first from what I have heard froma pediatrician. H1N1 is a bacterial virus. Its a virus with bacterial in it that needs to run its course. Alot of people are blowing it out of proportion. If you get the shot for it it is just one strain its just like the flu. It can be severe to mild. It is possible they had it but it usually takes 7 to ten days to run its course even being mild. I had two kids out of four that had it. They have for two days a fever either at 100.00 or higher and it stays they can't kick it for two days. They have a bad dry cough that turns into congestion with a dry cough. They want to sleep thats all they want there very tired and want to sleep these are the symptoms we had here. But for anything more serious I know those same symptoms are there with possible diahria or throwing up. I hope this was helpful. I believe from what you described was just a virous of something. Nothing too big. I beleive they blow h1n1 out of proportion and they do the flu the same.

It definitely sounds like it was the H1N1. My son definitely had it about a month ago and all it was was a fever and cough. The fever lasted 2 days and the cough for a week. It's really no big deal...been really blow out of proportion.
