I ordered a laptop from HSN
The details are, 17" LCD with a quad core 4gb ram, 320gb HDD and several programs including microsoft windows and excel for $579
Was this a good buy? Anyone have a Gateway computer, does it hold up pretty well?

What can I do next?

I have a Gateway laptop...no problems with it except the battery. I have to keep it plugged in at all times and its been this way since a couple months after I bought it.

Sounds like a fair deal to me.

I haven't had a Gateway laptop but I've had two Gateway desktops that both lasted a long time. In fact, I gave my last one to my mom and she's still using it. It's about 9 years old now.

Gateway still makes computers??

I've been in the industry for 15 yrs. Bottom line, it doesn't matter who the mfr is, as long as you clearly understand the service program attached to it.
It's all nuts and bolts, and it'll work fine. But when/if something goes wrong, make sure you read the terms and condidtions of the service agreement completely.
