Peace & Blessings! I am searching for a cooperative preschool or a three day a week preschool in the metro Detroit area for my 3 year old son. I do not want to send him to school fulltime but I am sure that he is ready for the academics & social interaction that he needs.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Peace and Blessings Ladies! Thanks for all the wonderful advice and help. I posted two request on mamasource and I have to say that God in one shot provided for both in one hit! I was looking for a preschool for my son and I wanted to find a foreign language club. Well both of my hearts desires were provided. I rec'd a call from a school in regards to me teaching French to their students. One of my girlfriends had shared with them that I was fluent and would possibly be open to the opportunity of teaching. So I went to the school and loved it for myself and both of my sons. I started teaching this week, and I have to say that I probably had more fun then the students I was teaching. They were like little sponges and gave me encouragement that my kids would learn a second language and enjoy it! The cherry on top is that the school is 7 mins from my home. Can someone say thank you Jesus! I am really excited as if you can't tell. Now the chocolate syrup is that my son will also be learning Spanish and Swahili, in addition to the French that I will be teaching at his school! So thank you Heavenly Father, and thank you ladies for your thoughts and suggestions. To those who recommended CHUP we did a visit and really liked it as well, but this was really the icing on the cake for us. But thank you for the information, and I too after one visit would recommend CHUP as well for anyone in the Dearborn area.

What area are you in?

On the west side (Oakland County) there's the Troy Co-op Preschool www.troycooppreschool.com

In Macomb County there are co-ops in St.Clair Shores, Grosse Pointe, and in the Anchor Bay School District.

I'm a strong advocate of co-op education. What better way to show your child that you're interested in them and their education! I know some parents are turned off by the fact that you have to help out in the classroom, but at most co-ops it's only about once a month. I think it's a great opportunity for you to be involved in your child's education and to have fun with them at school!

Good luck in your search.

Hello! I live in the Dearborn area and my son has been enrolled in a co op program for the past two years. The name of the school is CHUP co op preschool. The school is located at the corner of Cherry Hill and Telegraph in the Cherry Hill Pres. Church. This program is wonderful, play centered program which is what children at this level are in need of most, learning through their play. Great kind, warm, an d caring teachers!!! Great children!!! Great parents!!! THe program for your son would be 2 days a week in the morning 9 - 11. You would have to work in the classroom approximately 3 times a month. Check out their ____@____.com/

I think that you will be very happy with your choice.

I send my son to Ms. Dee Dee's School House( see her rating on here) She is located in Oak Park, Mi. SHe does full time, part itme, occasional, and pretty much anything that you nees. My son has been with her since he was 6 weeks old and he's 2 now, and he and I both love it. She really is excellent and she teaches the kids, no matter what age they are. The older children are counting in english, soanish, chinese and swahili. She really cares about her kids and she is reasonable price wise. Check her out and good luck with your search. www.msdschoolhouse.com TO get to her reviews go to local business reviews and go to education and academics and then go to preschools
