Christian Moms Online?

I have been looking for a group online that has an active forum for just Christian moms. Every time I find a website that seems nice, the forums are dead or non-existent. Do any of you belong to a good group online where we can discuss life and family and hobbies from a Godly perspective?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I agree, some comments were rude :) There is a time to be cordial to people that are not of the same faith that we are. We can even enjoy a surface type friendship with someone of another faith. But a Christian should not be unequally yoked with those of the world and with the few minutes per day I have to spend on talking with other ladies, I just don't want to spend it hearing or seeing some of the things we see on here. The questions have often turned very ugly, cheap, and even gross lately. I'm looking for friends that will lift each other up in a moral, kind, Christian way. I'm also having a difficult time with the amount of bad mouthing mothers on here. How is it a community that is supposed to be built on the premise of going to other mothers to ask questions has turned into a place to just come and bash our own mothers so often?

I googled Christian Mom's Blog and found this one that looks like it is alive and well and might be of interest to you...
http://momsoffaith.com/ you might find something else if you do a little research...some of the things that I clicked on were not of any use whatsover...good luck to you!!

I'm a little late, but I just saw your post and thought about the forums on the Focus on the Family site, www.family.org. I haven't really gotten involved in the community yet, just because I haven't taken the time, but I wanted to share it with you because in my experience it is not dead and tends to be helpful and uplifting. Best wishes!

Oh my goodness! I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but respond after seeing what Jo had to say. I'm sure she won't be checking back, but would she have had the same response if if you had said you were looking for a site about life and family from an immigrant's perspective? Or a veteran's perspective? You are trying to find a group that more closely matches your needs, your niche in the world.

I completely understand your view. I have a couple of friends who have stopped coming here because of the exact reasons in your "so what happened" response. I still find there are more positives than negatives, so it's a ok for me, but after reading that from her, she certainly just gave you the last reason you needed to stop coming here. So sorry.

Thank you for asking the question, though - looks like there are a lot of good places for me to check out, too!

One more thing - I found two groups BlogHer and ThetaMom - that have tons of different blog focuses, and I know there are some that are Christian. Maybe there would be one that would be a good match for you.

I know I'm months late in coming to this, I did a search on here and found this question. Did you ever find one? My daughter's pediatrician recommended this site, but I would love to find a community of Christian women to offer guidance and support and friendship. Please let me know if you found one!

Are you on Facebook? I am part of a group on there called Circle of Moms. I haven't had to use it much, but I get updates from others and it looks like a very well used as well as inspirational group. They even have different groups based on specific religions. Hope this helps! I would like to encourage you to not let others negative views get to you. I also have seen some of the rude comments on other posts and couldn't believe that people could/would be so judgemental. Some people just need to make themselves feel better by putting others down. Rise above all of the hurt.
Hope this helps!
They also have a website, maybe you can sign up without using Facebook: http://www.circleofmoms.com/

I don't really have an answer for you. I just wanted to point out that I don't think Christian groups are at all boring and I think the last poster was really rude to say the things she did. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything! I know that there is a Catholic Answers Forum that gets into some good discussions (and there are other faiths on there besides Catholics). Good luck in your search.

Have you looked on Momslikeme.com for a local group? Or Cafemom.com?

I do not personally belong to one, but do utilize a coupon web-site that discusses Christian topics often.

http://moneysavingmom.com/

Perhaps you could find a site from one of the Mama's on there.
Good luck!

This is a website that is a blog with comments, but no forum. It is written by a Christian mom: www.weareTHATfamily.com. Very funny, inspiring, encouraging, heartfelt, challenging, loving.

Also try (in)courage. www.incourage.me This has many stories from a Christian perspective, again with discussion (comments), articles from core authors as well as some from guest writers, etc.

I was wondering how you discuss hobbies from a godly perspective? I mean does that mean you knit crosses? Do you run while praying? I know this sounds sarcastic, probably because it is, but it is to point out hobbies are hobbies. The reason why you will find those online groups are dead is they are started with the best intentions but when you restrict by just Christian moms you are also restricting a lot of creativity. In then end it is boring and the group dies.

Just something to think about.

You would be better to find a fun group and then hang mostly with like minded members. I belong to several message boards and you really do hang out in groups there.
