I am looking for swimming lessons (for weekend) for my 7 year old daughter. As she does not swim, I am a little nervous about group lessons and may prefer private lessons.....and it needs to be for the weekend, as I work during the week. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

This might not be of help, but when my daughter was 7, she didn't know how to swim either, but I signed her up for the swim team anyway. She just seemed too old for lessons. Well it was a great coach and the older kids that taught her to swim. She's 14 now and ine of the best on the team :)

Hi! The Y will do private lessons. Call and ask them who might be available on a Saturday. Lowell Y is easy for you to get to and after you get comfortable you can switch to group lessons. A day without the Y is like a day without sunshine...

Hello There,
I live in Westford also and have tried several different swim lessons for my 7 year old boy. The best and most effective that I keep going back to is Pool School Plus in Harvard/Boxborough. You can find them on line (be careful to find the right one as "pool school" itself is a franchise business. Anyway, these folks are great with any level swimmer and I think they do Saturday lessons; not sure about private. But, they do have small swimmer to teacher ratios, especially for those who are new to swimming (like 4 to 1). You can also try the Westford Swim and Raquet Club or the Regency --I'm pretty sure they both have Saturday lessons, though I don't know much about them.

Good luck!
B.

The Billerica Boys and Girls Club is good too, I know many people who have gone there and who currently have kids in swim teams there. I live in Arlington and there is a B&GC here too, and my kids do lessons there every year. I LOVE it, and it is very affordable. Good luck!
