am 30 weeks pregnant , and looking to buy and keep a post partum tummy belt.
how many of you'll used it and felt happy that you got one.

any suggestions which one should i buy and how should i look for a size ? before pregnant i was size 10 , 5 feet 6 inches tall and 143 lbs.

better if the cost is less than 40$ can i get one in my budget.

i guess we can use the same type of belt even if we had c-section or any other belt specifically worn by ppl who had c-section.
thanks a lot inadvance

i used to have a postpartum belly belt... i didnt feel like it helped at all, in fact, it made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable. now, im only 5 foot 2, and i blame a lot of that discomfort on my height, figuring if i was longer it would sit in a better spot, so hopefully you would have a better time with the darn thing! anywya, i had gotten mine at either kid to kid or once upon a child, one of those second hand childrens consignment shops. you could also maaaybe look on craigslist or amazon for a discounted one!

Several years and several kids ago I purchased a Motherhood brand basic maternity belt (about $30) and I wore it maybe a half dozen times. I didn't like the way it felt or the way it fit. With my last 2 kids, I didn't use anything but I really needed a good one but I couldn't swing the $ at the time. If I were to do it over again, I would have invested the money for the more expensive ones with as much support as possible and used it with all my pregnancies. Oh, well. Just thought I would throw in my 2 cents.....go for the best quality one if your budget allows, you won't use the cheaper ones because they don't really help. Good luck to you!

I had a c-section and the hospital put me in an abdominal binder post-surgery. I got one from labor and delivery and another one from the mother/baby unit. Each was slightly different but I used them both off an on for about three weeks to a month post-c-section. It was tough to wean away from the support they offerred but I knew that the more I wore it the longer it would take my body to regain its own muscle strength. Good luck!

Dear R. T.,

I purchased a tummy belt when I was pregnant with my second son. He was huge and the weight was unbearable. I went to the maternity store in the dover mall. They come in different sizes so I had to try them all on to see what would fit. I remember it costing about $25. I was so glad I bought it though, it was great. I wore it all the time, even to bed.

Hope this helps.
