Hi!
So a couple weeks ago my dog was sneezing like crazy. I was gonna take her to the vet after a week of sneezing (she was otherwise fine) but then the sneezing stopped. Now, this week, my cat is sneezing! I've had her for 5-6 years and I've never heard her sneeze. This week I've heard her sneeze probably 3-5 times each day. (I really haven't been counting but I know it's often but not constantly) - she is eating, pooping, peeing, etc normal. But, cats are so lazy. Her activity level is the same to me, which is next to nothing :) .............. should I take her to the vet? Do cats get colds? Would she have any other symptoms besides sneezing? Do cats have allergies? Could my dog have passed something to her? Oh - to answer the question, no she has no runny eyes or runny nose. And, it's definitely a sneeze, not a cough.

Lol, thanks for reading! Hopefully someone has some answers.

What can I do next?

Yes, cats can have allergies and colds. If she has no other symptoms, it may be something she's allergic to, or just - something in the air. But you can always call your vet and pick his or her brain. Don't be embarrassed to ask questions, even ones you think might be silly - asking questions may save your pet's life some day.

Another wise thing to do is to get a list of people food items that are dangerous for cats and dogs. Two such lists are at:

My cats definitely get colds from time to time. My older kitty especially, she sneezes a lot and will get watery eyes. Just like us, after a few days, they're just fine again. If everything else is normal, just make sure she's getting lots of water and tons of extra love. :)

I think cats can get colds, and I know they can have allergies. It may be an allergy to something both pets have come into contact with. I used to have a cat who seemed to either be allergic to everything- or maybe she was allergic to herself!

My cat started sneezing and shooting large quantities of "nose juice" everywhere. Your situation will probably be different than ours, so I will spare you the details, but I recommend that you take him to the vet. I wish I had gone sooner.
