do you get a penalty for returning a car earlier than stated? We are renting until our van's transmission is done, and it was able to be fixed much earlier than expected. We havent paid the bill yet, and so far cant see anything stated as such on the website. I will call but at the moment my phone is charging. Just was wondering if anyone knew. I am using Enterprise.

What can I do next?

No, you won't be charged a penalty. You'll be charged for the days that you used the car.

Nope! My sister works for Enterprise and you only get a penalty if you are late or if you didn't fill the tank.

I have never heard of an early turn in charge.

The rental is based on 24h. If you request the car for 7 days, and return the car at noon on the 6th day, you pay for 6 full days, not 5 1/2. Or if you return it 4 hours early on the day its due, you pay for the full 7 days.

The former posters are correct with the penalties for late returns, not filling the tank or damage the car. I'm not sure if you received some weekly discount (probably not) because it is based on a daily rental every time I have used Enterprise when going through insurance or fleet rental. When I have picked it up on a Monday and returned it on Tuesday, that is two days. When I have rented it at a personal rental or corporate rate, it is on 24 hours. I just called my Enterprise and checked...you are good!

No, you only pay for the time you have used the car. It should be a lot cheaper then they quoted you if you are bringing it back early.

No, my hubby rents all the time for our business so he does not run his car into the ground.

Penalties occur if.... 1. you are late 2. you don't fill the gas tank 3. you have some sort of damage to the car.

He rents in Houston all the time and what you will notice is that there will be a $$ difference on the receipt with anticipated charges vs realtime charges.
