Camping - Gresham,OR

Go someplace those with tents don't have to listen to your high powered electronically run house on wheels. We who really camp don't like the engines motor homes and 5th wheelers make. Go where others like you gather and let us campers who tent out and cook with wood or small gas stoves be in nature.
Our kids and grandkids learned to love nature as she is no game room, just fishing, watching sunrise and sunset learning the phases of nature throughout the day.
Seeing animals walking around freely. Learning to hear different bird calls and see wild weather rise up out of the desert or the ocean.
Yes, I was camping on the ocean just last week. And, I am not even middle aged any more. I'm strong because I live a natural life. Get your kids to do so and they will become as old as people can live. They will be healthy and strong from long hikes, carrying backpacks and breathing really fresh air.

Steamboat Rock State park in Eastern Washington near Coulee City and the Grand Coulee Dam. It is one of the nicest place I have ever camped and highly reccomend it. You can find info about it and all the other state parks at... http://www.parks.wa.gov/

It is so popular it is hard to find a reservation but it is so worth it! It isin't just a piece of cement and some grass... it is tons of grass, huge common areas, big campsites and extremly family friendly. It is very clean and green :)

It's nice because it's broken down by region. A lot of the parks have pictures so you have an idea what the sites look like. Also gives you rates and contact information for reservations.

Try the state parks. Many have RV hookups, either full or partial with a dump site near the trash collection area. Beverly Beach just north of Newport on Hwy 101 was beautiful and huge, lots of RV sites.

We bought a camper last year - it isnt a toy hauler, but we went to 3 places. Mt Hood Village - LOVED IT - going back this year. Not sure if there are places to ride toys. Cannon Beach RV - really nice. It was a little too quiet for us, felt like any noise we made (kids playing) was too loud. Ft. Stevens - ok, but way more close than what I liked. Plus they mixed tents and RVs and that made for even less privacy. We had a very creepy neighbor of 2 rough looking men that slept in the back of thier pick up and had little camping gear, but my husband saw guns. This year we are trying Detroit Lake and going back to Mt. Hood Villiage.

There was a book about camp grounds of the West that the RV place gave me - there are a bunch in there. Good luck! Have fun!

Walker Valley ORV is in Mount Vernon, WA (about an hour north of Seattle). It's a very nice ORV facility. You could camp and play with the toys :)

KahNeeTa Resort is a fun place to. They have RV sites, you can rent a teepee, get a motel room or stay in their Lodge. The olympic size mineral springs heated water pool is awesome! there are hiking trails, horseback riding, golf and mini golf, gambling at the casino, and more.
