Book Recommendation - Crowley,TX

I am looking for a book I read a long time ago. The author was female, her books were typically set in Ireland and/or the main character was from Ireland and usually female. I know it was “classified” as fiction and it was pretty comical as well, a little bit of romance and a tad bit of seriousness. It was very entertaining and an easy read. I was wanting to take one of her books on vacation but I have no idea what the title was or who the author is. I think the main character had just gone through a divorce, one scene had her standing in the tub waiting for the Nair to work before a date, then another time she got her hair cut just before a date and her bangs were too short so the boys next door tried to help by tying pantyhose around her head. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Just read it and Marian Keyes is the author. Watermelon, Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, and Angels are all the same author and all very good. Watermelon and angels are the same characters as the one you mentioned.

I don't know that it's old enough, but Marian Keyes is an Irish author that makes me laugh until I cry!

Not Irish but...Diana Gabaldon wrote a series of books the first of which is Outlander. You might find, as I have, an engaging series that will keep you highly motivated to read on. as a matter of fact I found myself hurrying home because I just knew they were doing things in my book without me!

If you like Maeve Binchy, you will love Rosamunde Pilcher. She's Scottish and her best books are The Shell Seekers, Coming Home, and September.

I have read this book along with a million others since, so I'm having trouble remembering. Was the author's last name Green or Greene. She does a lot of comical books about women, but I can't rememeber for sure if it was her or someone else. Good luck!
