well one piece of advice I will give is this.. remember, the one year olds won't remember the bday favors, so you are basically doing this for the adults..... in other words, since the kids won't recall or really care at this young age (presuming you are inviting other young children) then keep it very simple... Sandy listed some good ideas.. and you could also do your goodie bags.. (you can buy them at a party store) they have all kinds of themes... SAVE the big time parties and expense for when the child is older and can remember and appreciate... what I found with my son who is now 6 1/2 is that all parties BEFORE the 6th one really were no big deal, oh sure he had fun as did the adults, but it's when they are older that they want to have themed parties with favors and invite their friends. however, if you do decide to do favors.. make them edible. unless it's your own child and or the guests are close to you, I don't think many people keep all the favors they get.. you could bake some decorative cookies (diff shapes with cookie cutters) and put those in a goodie bag. even add a toy or two. but again.... don't go overboard.. some kids and family have sooooooooooo much clutter in their homes, I really think most will lose track of the favors anyway.. I don't mean to down your idea, but if you were to ask your friends and family a year from now, hey do you remember the favors from my child's bday party? they would probably all say, huh..oh yeah.. huh.. yes those were great... and then scratch their heads trying feverishly to remember what they were. :)
