Any ideas on a birthday gift I could give my Dad for his birthday from his two granddaughters who are 1 and 4 years old?

What can I do next?

Playing off of sarah's idea... I just saw hand prints in bright colors done across the middle of a piece of paper and then they drew stems on them and grass on the bottom of the page to make them look like tulips. they were adorable!!

Here's what I did, and it turned out super cool. I got a small canvas and 2 different colors of paint (you'd need 3) and did handprints. I did mine and then when it was dry I put my daughter's over that. It was cool, showing the different sizes. With your daughters, you could do yours, then the 4 year olds, then the 1 year olds. It's unique, fun for the kids, and my dad loves it.

Snapfish does a good coffee-mug - upload your fav pics of your girls and him and you're done. :)

My dad loves the corner pieces of brownies. I got him a "more corners" brownie pan on Amazon. Would've bought the "all edges" brownie pan but it cost $10 more.

I love the ideas suggested. I'm a big picture person.

Have them draw pictures, mat them on some scrapbook paper and frame them together or separately. Put their names and ages on them. If your 4 year old can write, have her write her name on it or the message (may take a few sittings).

Last year my 3 year old gave Papa a special rock she found. It's kind of their thing. They have a small basket of rocks that has been her favorite thing to play with when she visits.

Is there a special toy they like to play with him? Maybe buy more of that toy or something similar - for them to play with him together. My mom's favorite gift from my brother was the wind-up Pac Man he picked out for her when he was a toddler. She kept it until she passed and he has it now. :)

They have AWESOME good quality photo gifts.
I use Kodak all the time. Very pleased. EVERYONE loves what I have given them from here.
Many things to choose from.

ALSO, I do an annual photo Christmas ornament from Kodak.
Very special and it shows my kids, growing up each year. And it will be a keepsake ornament for them too, when they are older I will give it to them for their own Christmas tree/family.

Check out www.personalizationmall.com. They have great personalized frames, like "Our Heart Belongs to Grandpa" and you can have your kids' names engraved on the frame and insert a cute picture of them. It's about $18. I have gotten many personalized frames (especially as baby gifts) from this site and they are always a hit. Try to cut and paste the below link into your browser, for an example of one of the frames. Good luck!
