Bible Board Book Suggestions

I have a couple but they are a few years old. One is caled Noahs Crew Came Two by Two and the other is The 7 Days of Creation. They have textured things in both and the dreation one has a raised up moon and sun and some other things. Both my children loved them and we used them while we went to church to entertain themselves.

Just let me echo Julie R's response...I have the Usborne Book of Bible Stories, with a read-along CD. It is the graduated reader one, in which the top of the page has a condensed version of that part of the story for younger children, and the bottom of each page is more detailed. My son is receiving it for Christmas.
It is not a board book, however, but the pages are a little thicker than traditional book pages.

When my daughter was 12 months and still today (she's over 2) she loves the lift a flap books! We have some Christian books that have the lift a flap that we got from our local Christian book store.

I highly recommend the Boz the Bear series. They are excellent! You can get them at christian bookstores, CBD.com or http://www.bozthebear.com/home.asp. These are the best I have found for little ones, they sing about God & even pray!

My mother-in-law got my daughter Baby's First Bible when she was probably 9 months old. It is perfect for little ones...it has a handle on it so they can carry it. It only has a few stories in it, but it is a start for that age!! There are many bibles out there for children of all ages...go to any book store and you should be able to find some!! Good Luck! What a wonderful gift to give your child!!

God Bless published by Brimax Books 1989 bought it in 1991 probably for $3.97 I read this book MANY MANY times!

Baby's First Songs compiled by Allia Zobel-Nolan USD $10.99 I paid $4.99 at an outlet this has a handle and a neat little clasp that little ones can open easily. He carried this to Sunday School many times!

Baby Blessings Bible (w/soft cover which is washable & handle & small velcro closure - easy for little ones to open) published by Standard Publishing in Cinncinati, OH. I LOVE this book - it is like a grow with me book... there are 2-3 sections on each page and you can go through the book and read the shorter ones or go through and read the more indepth ones or read them both! I bought this one and think it was at WalMart but don't remember the price.. sorry --- this one is still carried to church off and on and he is 6 now!

My Easter Basket by Mary Manz Simon (Standard Publishing) I have no price and remember buying it at a Women's Seminar. It SAYS ages 3 and up but the only reason for that might be the glitter on the pages! It is a simple story to read and short... very nice!

Bible Songs for the Very Young USD $7.99 ( I paid $2.99 @ Marshalls) Random House Publishing illustrated by Laura Freeman. This one has been to church many times, too!

Lift The Flap Bible (with 40 flaps to open) Standard Publishing Think I found this one at a thrift store or garage sale! This one is recommended for 3-5 years... it would definitely be a great book to read to him and keep up higher so the flaps don't get damaged :) It is definitely a favorite of our Son.

ok - those are in order of size... the next two are a recommendation but for older ones... they are NOT BOARD books like those I already mentioned....

Christian Mother Goose "Rock-A-Bye Bible" by Marjorie Ainsborough Decker --- CopyRight 1987 --- it is a keepsake - hopefully you can find one still!!!!! I paid $5.99 @ a Christian Bookstore. This book adjusts fairy tales and puts God or Jesus into them... I just LOVE it!!!! Every Child should have this book! It was carried to church by at least two of our children.

Good Night Bible - it came with a night light - it looks like a firefly and has a shutoff switch on it so you don't have to unplug it... this is like a childs first devotional - it has on some pages three sections one is titled Quiet time another is Prayer time and another is sleep time... gets the kids thinking :) Rhyming on pages throughout, too! it is also Standard Publishing and stories retold by Susan L. Lingo
