Best Costume in Your Neighborhood?

Had to post this question cause I've got a GOOD one... there was a guy riding on a real horse as a The Headless Horseman! We don't live in the country (not far from it, though...), just a regular suburb. It was AWESOME and very detailed. Not to mention the horse was beautiful, had a perfect gait and was pure black. REALLY cool. See any cool costumes this year in your neighborhood while trick or treating?

What can I do next?

I was so focused on passing out candy that I didn't notice most of the costumes, except for one mom who was a sunflower(her face was the center of the flower and she was wearing a thing around her face with the petals). I noticed a group of teens that weren't really dressed up except for some slits cut in one of their tshirts.
My husband was a hiker, with a camping shirt, hat, whistle, compass, binoculars, map, and walking stick. My son was going to be a bear but the mask was too hot so he was a cowboy instead. Last year, he was a basket of laundry, the year before he was a chef with a pig nose.

The best I saw today was a hot pink ipod made from a large box. I'm sure an adult helped because it was very accurate in the details.

My grand daughter!! I finished her costume today and she is out there with M. right now as Rainbow Brite and her horse Starlite. She was adorable! I did have a pretty tall kid with a mask that made me laugh. Picture Ken,,from Barbie and Ken. With that stupid grin stuck on his face and the blond hard plastic molded hair. I just stood there laughing and told him, "youre probably making faces at me right now".. it was funny, he just stood there ...with that big stupid grin on his face.
EDIT: just had a kid dressed as a dollar bill. That was clever.

Seattle is NOT big on trick'o'treating (sniff) BUT there are 3 streets in one neighborhood that go all out (fog machines, giant spiders, music shows, haunted houses skeletons on ziplines... GREAT streets). So thousands of people come. From babes in arms to teens AND most of the adults come in costume. It's one place where EVERYONE can dress up. So we saw a lot.

My Favs
- (yours) hehehe... okay not on those streets but the rest are
- My son (of course)

- Star Wars Family (Mom & Dad were Luke & Leia... Kids were Boba Fett, Jango Fett, & Storm Trooper... they'd "captured" their parents and were making them take them to "rebel bases" to raid for candy. Since the oldest kid was maybe 8 it was HILARIOUS

- Kid w/ Megaphone following Cute Girl (dressed as fairy). Both were maybe 13/14. He kept hiding behind cars and talking her up. For BLOCKS. She couldn't figure out where it was coming from. We got to see the end where he snuck up on her!!! If he doesn't get a date out of that, there's no fairness in the world.

- Baby Lemur (fast asleep)

- Cherry Pie Girl (15?) & Grapes Girl (15?)

- SuperMan (girl about 7). No skirt. Not SuperGirl. Not feminized in any way. We're talking down to the last detail SuperMAN. Her parents rock.

- Girl Giving Out Candy (What's the magic word? No. Not please! Taco? Are you NUTS? It's TRICK OR TREAT. No. I won't give you any candy until you say the magic word. NO IT'S NOT TACO! Loooooved her. She was maybe 10 or 11)

We didnt have any action this year so far and it's almost 8. I had 2 trick or treaters, one was the mad hatter and the other a ballerina, nothing to write home about.
The economy hit hard in our neighborhood this year apparently. Most of the kids did stuff we had going on in town this wknd, I guess parents had enough of it and didnt take them out tonight.

I had an adorable Ladybug (about 2 yo) and a sweet little ghost (about 2 yo) and my son was a WWII Flying Ace which I thought was O. of the coolest--but I'm biased!

I had a cute little mermaid that we saw while we were out trick or treating.

I think the worst costumes were two teenage girls dressed up as sexy kittens with black yard size garbage bags to hold their candy. Ugh. They got the gross candy. :)

I saw a Mom with her kids, she was dressed as a witch, but wore the witch head (mask thing) down on her chest. Then her own head was wearing a babies bonnet and she had a pacifier in her mouth and on her back (and holding around her neck) was a baby sleeper all stuffed so it looked fat. So essentially she looked like a short old witch with a baby riding on her back. It was a fantastic costume... although hard to describe :)

A kid at my daughter's school was Mike Ditka. He had on tan pants, a white long sleeved dress shirt with a tie and a Bears sweater vest and the big aviator sunglasses and he had a mustache. Looked just like Da Coach! There was a Downs girl at the school who was a beautiful Glinda the Good Witch. Downs kids are so cute anyway and this little girl was so happy and smiling- so freakin adorable.

We had one who had just put a box on his head. That was it. He was about 13 years old. It's like he forgot it was going to be Halloween and then got desperate when he realised he might miss out on candy.

The Headless Horseman sounds amazing!

The best costume I saw this year was my little grandson in his lion costume. He was adorable! He'll be 6 months on November 5 and his costume was just darling.
I'm biased, obviously. But it was the cutest costume. My mom, great grandma, bought it for him.

I always love the really creative costumes. Things that no one else would think of.
That's what makes it fun for me.

I didn't see many that were terribly clever or memorable. I guess my favorite was a mom dressed as the Mad Hatter. It was a professional costume with a black tulle skirt, big hat with ears, she had a waistcoat and carried a big gold pocket watch. It was cute.
