Hi mamas! I've been put in charge of the end-of-the-season coaches gifts for my son's baseball team. I'm looking for something creative, not the normal trophy or "World's Greatest Coach"-type gifts. Any suggestions would help me out greatly! Thanks!

What can I do next?

When my dad coached we got each of the Coaches personalized clear acrylic clip-boards - they loved them. You can even have each kid sign the clip-board with paint pens in team colors

We still have, and display, the team-autographed baseballs that were my husband's favorite coaching gift. Some of those little-leaguers are 30!

I like the previous post...Ideas to give a gift that has more sentimental than monetary value. The autographed clipboard was great!

I proudly say that my husband is the most awesome baseball coach EVER. We both love when the boys give him unsolicited thanks at the end of the season. We appreciate the gift cards that parents get though sort of feel uncomfortable about receiving monetary gifts for a volunteer effort that brings our family more joy than work.

I actually think the best thanks we got was during the sign-up for this spring. We heard that at least 4 parents added comments to their registration like:

A.) I only want my son to be on Coach Gs team.
B.) I will volunteer to coach but only if Coach G is on the team.

Best gift EVER. I am a very lucky woman.

One of the neatest gifts our team ever did was they took pictures of the boys that had been taken during games and then the team picture. They had a book done on snapfish. Each boy had a page of pictures of him (4-5) and the opposite page was blank. We had each boy write something to the coaches about that season and how much fun they had. I think it cost each parent about $10. Not bad considering. The final page in the book was the team photo and we took the team logo and put it on the back.

I photographed each kid receiving his trophy and a team photo. Then I placed the team photo in the center and each kid surrounding the team photo and framed the 16x20 print. I used the team colors for the background. It was my nephews team and my BIL gave it to the coach as a gift at the end of season party.

I love this post - I'm getting some great ideas! (This was for football, but would work for baseball) One year, I had a t-shirt made up with a saying that said, "You don't scare me, I coach football" and had the kids sign the back. On cafepress.com, you can pretty much find a shirt that will say anything on it. I love some of the other ideas, so I'm sure you'll find a great coach's gift. It seems the more practical/useful gifts that can also be personalized by the kids are the most appreciated. Good luck and thanks for posting this question!

I take a photo of the coach while he's talking to the team (team meeting) or coaching the kids. I put it in a plain wooden frame (Ikea has inexpensive ones). Then my son decorates it.

one of the best gifts my husband got was a gift certificate to the local ice cream shop. He'd taken the team after games many times during the season and I guess all the parents chipped in and bought him one. It was nice to go there as a family after the season was over and not have to worry about how much we were spending.

I took a team photo after a game, then blew it up to an 8x10, put it in a frame that had room all around it.....wrote the team name and year below the picture, then had each team member sign it. The coaches loved it! Super easy

I have been in charge a few years for gift buying. One year I bought beer glasses( you get get anything) and I had them engraved at the neighborhood store with their names and the team name and year THEY LOVED THEM. I put a bag of shelled peanuts(baseball nuts) in them. I also bought baseballs and had all the girls sign them and gave each coach one.

Another year I ordered coffee mugs from Walmarts photo dept and had the team picture put on them along with their name "Coach whatever" or the team name. Another big hit. They only cost about $12.00 and they come in within a week or so. Very Nice.

Check out Walmart photo dept they have so many neat ideas. You can even make a small photo book for like $12.00 if you have a lot of team pictures.

Good Luck

Have each kid write a note to the coach--maybe the best memory from the season, or something they learned from the coach. And then have them draw a picture. Who ever is in charge of this can turn it into a nice booklet. We did this for our son's hockey coaches, and they turned out really cute!

we used to just contribute cash to one of the parents and they typically purchased some type of gift card..often for a sports store or a restaurant. nothing too creative, more in the lines of practical.

In the past, we have taken the donations and bought either gift cards to a local restaurant or a visa gift card they can use anywhere. We found these to be more useful and like you said, how many "you're the greatest coach" gifts can a person display? One year we also had all the kids sign a ball....just a thought!
Good luck!

every year we get a photo or their fave pro team's stadium from www.riddell.com and have the kids all sign it. that way it is personalized to the coach and each kid gets their name on it too (and it is so cheap when divided amongst all the kids!!!!)
