I've never had a problem with my armpits smelling and ever since I got pregnant 11 months ago, I've started to smell. Today I put on some antiperspirant, but I still smell. I try not to use it because I'd rather use natural things, but haven't been able to find something that actually works. Why do I smell now and how do I get it to go away?? And, please give me your advice on what to use that is natural, if you do have a natural remedy.

Could be due to a change in hormones. Have you tried "Toms" deodorant? It is considered natural and may help you. You can get it at Trader Joes.

Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy!

It's most definitely hormonal-related. You could try keeping some natural, flushable wipes on hand for frequent armpit wiping. You could then follow up immediately with some cornstarch.

This is 100% hormone related, without a doubt. It also happens in other stages of life such as when girls hit puberty and during menopause as well. It is nothing more than hormonal shifts in our bodies that are producing certain conditions that allow bacteria, yeasts, and other organisms to flourish more rapidly. Sometimes you might also notice that you might be sweating more easily or profusely than before or even have issues where our hands and feet are too cold or too hot. It's all swings in hormones. It totally upsets the PH balance of skin something horrible. We start smelly weird and other stuff like adult acne and oily or dry skin start cropping up too. Just what you wanted to hear, right? I will say that there are a few deodorants on the market that seem to really combat this issue with the underarm smell. Secret PH balance is one of them. I think this company figured out that this issue is a real problem and decided to produce a PH balanced product to help us all out. There is also some excellent Clinical Strength deodorants that are fabulous...Dove, Secret Clinical, and Degree Fresh Cotton deodorant truly work. Give it a go! Over the years, I haven't found a more natural product that will really combat the dreaded hormonal swing stench. Maybe it's just me but there aren't any worthy of me mentioning in the "natural group" that we're able to combat the problem. Chances are, this will level out and go away in the future. It's hard to say when but it will. It will also return when the next hormonal roller coaster of your life occurs so there's the bad news! Try some of the deodorants I listed above and just keep as clean as you can. The combo daily showers and the new deodorant will help greatly. It will be fine! No worries!

This isnt really natural but it works for my menopausal self. I take a paper towel and fold it up into a square and I wet it with water and then I put a little clorox (bleach) on it. I swipe my underarms with the diluted solution and let them dry and then add my normal antiperspirant and it works like a charm. I've also heard vinegar works well too-- I just havent tried it since I usually have a bottle of bleach handy under my bathroom sink.
