Hi Ladies!

So I am the maid of honor at my sister's wedding, and I need ideas on what to do for a bachelorette party in Hawaii (the big island). I have never thrown one of these parties let alone been to one. So this is my first and I could rrealllyyyy use some ideas :)

One thought was a booze cruise but if there are any other ideas that'd be great. And my sister and family are partiers so ANY ideas are appreciated (no strippers though).

Also, any ideas on a gift for the bride and maybe party favors for the bridesmaids?

THANKS!!

BTW: The wedding is in Hawaii which is why we are going to have the bachelorette party there so it is not as though we could plan a trip anywhere else for the party.

What can I do next?

Have you been to Hawaii or priced any of this? My brother just came back and told me a weak happy hour drink was $10. He said a burger was 15 - no fries.
So, me being the frugal chick, I would probably try to get a group deal on the all inclusive booze cruie or reserve a party room at the hotel and maybe pay 1 guy to bartend and bring in your own liquor.

take a cheapy little veil for the bride to wear all night. I think its cute when they staple bright colored condoms all over it, but then again, im tacky.

I went to one recently where everyone was asked to wear a bright pink wig and donate $10 to Susan G Komen Foundation instead of buying the bride a drink.

I would maybe put together a scavenger hunt. We did my cousins in chico where she went to school and made her do crazy things like wear a billboard that says she mus sing until someone buys her a blowjob. She had to get some guy to give her his underwear. I know the big island is not such crazy party spot but scavenger hunts can be way fun however you do em. I dont know just a thought!

(NOTE: my 'location' in my profile says "Hilo, Hawaii" but I am not from there. I am from another island).

Now, the Big Island is Big.
Per this party, it depends WHERE on the island, this is going to be held?
Then, once the location/area is known, within THAT city, you need to see what hotels/venues/bed & breakfast lodgings there are.
Each city, on the Big Island, differs.

The Big Island... really varies in terms of weather too. So look that up.

The Big Island, is considered as a "country" place. It is not all citified, in other words. It is not a big city nor metropolis.
Thus, the venues they have there, at not, like a New York city.
Also, because the Big Island is big... the travel distances between places, can even be like a 2 hour drive.
IF for example, you have a party in "Hilo".... .but the people/wedding is held in "Kona"... that is a TWO hour drive, from place to place, 1-way.

So, again, within the SAME city/town, that the wedding is and where the guests will be lodged, you'd probably want the Party, held in that same, town.

Look online for the Big Island's website.
Each city/Island in Hawaii, has a website. From there you can see the resources/lodging/tourist venues/party offerings etc.

Good luck.

Just saying the wedding is in "Hawaii" is real broad. And too generalized.
Because--
EACH island, has different lodgings/resources/venues/packages.
The Big Island, is also not a "Waikiki." Not a city, like Honolulu.
For example, I don't even know, if the Big Island has those tourist "booze cruises." The ocean there, is a lot different, from the island of Oahu, for example.

And yes, the cost of things in Hawaii, is high.
Waikiki, being expensive. Like the previous poster said.
BUT, this wedding/party is not in Waikiki, which is on the island of Oahu.
Your party, is on the Big Island.

Since your sister, is from the Big Island (I assume), then, she'd probably know, what is there.
Or her Fiance, if he is from there and a "local."

Since, you are from San Fran, and I assume a lot of the guests will be not from Hawaii, why not use favors/party favors that are Hawaiian??? ie: "tourist" Hawaiian trinkets, would be easily found. And can be real cute and a good memory of the wedding. ie: hula dancers trinkets, male and female with a bow, in a clear cute cellophane bag.
Or, the Big Island has a cookie that is quite famous. http://www.bigislandcandies.com/BIC/
You could have these cookies in a clear bag with a bow etc.

Or, cute little travel sized "Hawaiian" liquor bottles, as a party gift. Look that up online.

Or, get everyone a "Hula" skirt, to wear at the party.
With a Bikini.
Just Google search "where to get hula skirts cheap."
This can be gotten, AHEAD of time, even before going to the Big Island.
Since you can get it online.

Anything "Hawaiian" themed, will probably be cute. And will easily lend itself to memories.

For any BULK quantity of items... you best order this, AHEAD of time. Especially if the wedding is big and the party is big. You need the vendors to have enough time... to make it and produce it for the wedding etc. And you'd also need to decide what you want, and approve or change the items you want, and how it is packaged etc.

You'd want 'gifts' and favors to be ALREADY packaged for the party... because if you do it, that will take a LOT of time for you to put it all together and package it up all cute for the party. Just have the vendor or wherever you get the favors, to package it for you.
If for example, you need 100 clear cellophane bags with a purple bow on it, WHERE would you find, bulk items of party items/wrapping supplies, on the Big Island??? You'd need to know that, too.

Or, Hawaii is also known for Hawaiian Flowers. You could order a bunch of "Leis" for everyone to wear at the party too. The prices of leis, varies. And, you'd have to give the Florist, enough time, to even gather the flowers and then make the leis... to then supply you with enough for the party etc.
Think, ahead.
Any vendor, would need a head's up and lead time, to get or make what you want.
