Anyone Have a Video Jr Now? Going on a Long Car Trip!

We are going to Ga this weekend, about a 6-7 hour drive. My husband, myself and my 4 year old are going w/ friends (also a husband wife and 4 year old). The other 4 year old has a Video Jr Now and I was considering getting my daughter one (they fight like teens about this stuff, can't just have one!). They aren't really that expensive (around $30 now). Does anyone have one, and can tell me about them? Or does anyone have any other cheap suggestions? I don't have the money to buy a full car DVD player. Maybe $35 max. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi A.!

I know the feeling of traveling with kids , I have 3 boys and most of the time we have to have 3 of everything, it stinks let me tell you. We have a portable dvd player that has 2 screens and plugs into the lighter cable, if you would like to borrow it just drop me a line, we have a permanant one in the car also so you are more than welcome to borrow this, not a big deal. Forgot to tell you it also has headphones so you don't have to hear the movies the whole trip , very nice!

We don't have a Videa Jr. Now. But as for ideas-my son loves the Leap Pads that have the books and the touch pen. We have the little Leap Pad and the Fisher Price one. He likes the little leap pad better. He takes it in the car all of the time. It has games that it plays with you and it will read you individual words or sentences of the story. The books also flip so there is two in one. It also should come with one that way you wouldn't have to buy anything but the leap pad itself. Then they would have two different things to play with. I think they are only like $30 too.

By the way, I wanna go!
Have fun.

Ariella - No offense, but isn't that really dishonest? Not something I want to teach my children.

I will tell you what I did. I was taking a weeklong trip from Florida to Minnisotta to Michigan and back to Fl. I went to Walmart and got one of those dvd-game systems that hangs on the back of the seat. and put it on my credit card. She watched movies and played several games that came with the player. When we returned to Fl. we packed it back up in the box after making sure she used it very carefully. We then took it back and said it didnt meet our needs of what we were looking for and got a full refund. 7 DAYS USE AND ZERO COST
