Anyone Ever Tried a Stand-up Computer Desk?

I feel like I am spending way too much time sitting on my butt! I have been thinking about getting a stand-up computer desk. Have you ever used one? How did it work for you? Anything I should take into consideration before I request one? I worked on my feet for years, and now that I have a desk job, I just feel so sedentary.
Thanks for any tips or thoughts!

My former SIL put one in her basement. It wasn't just a standup one though, she had hers set up on a treadmill. (Yes, really).
She is a runner, and wanted to be able to maximize her time.

I have worked in a couple of call centers and I have seen people use both stand up and sit down desks. I have used both, and I like being able to go from one to the other because I get restless being stuck in one position. I have also see people use a big yoga ball, I did this a few times and boy did my abs feel it. I would say have a desk that has options so that it can go up or down and feel comfortable.

I have one. It's great! Mine has the ability to be stand-up height or sit-down height (or wherever in between). It's really nice to be able to stand up and stretch while still getting work done. (Here's what mine looks like: http://www.ergodepot.com/Ergo_Depot_adjustable_desk_AD117...)

I convinced my boss to let me make one for $22 from ikea parts. Google it and instructions will come up. I loved it but get a drafting chair so you can sit as well. A good balance is 70 standing/30 sitting. Also get anti fatigue mats or really supportive shoes. Good luck!

Never considered it, hmmm. Yesterday I worked from the home office (usually I'm in and out of the car selling) and realized my butt hurt because I had been sitting there absorbed all darn day!

I hope you get feedback.

My handy son-in-law recently converted his office table to a stand-up desk. He's happy with it so far.
