Anyone Else Can't Shake the Flu?

I have had cold and flu symptoms on and off all winter. I just can't shake it! My kids must bring home a new strain from school as often as their homework. Anyone else out there have a bug they just can't shake? This is getting ridiculous. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I just got over a sinus infection 2 weeks ago, and it's back.

I don't blame the kids, I blame my HUSBAND, he is the WORST, leaves snotty tissues all over, never washes him hands... I'm a germophobe and about to quarantine that man to his CAR.

I have had times like that in the past and my kids in the daycare often do too. But for the last year I have been studying spiritual healing in the word and with preachers that post their mp3's online for downloading. It's very interesting. Without really getting into all the faith and biblical doctrine itself, I'll just tell you what my mother told me just yesterday. She said that all the while I've been studying this way (hours per day), her pains and illnesses have been shorter lived. She said that she is reaping the benefits just by being here and listening to me share what I'm learning.

This same mom has told me that she doesn't always agree with the doctrine these preachers are preaching. She is not yet ready to believe all of it. She also doesn't want to spend the time to read the word to the exclusion of other things. I've given up almost all tv so that I'll have more time. She LOVES her tv.

But anyway, any sicknesses I've had this year have been extremely short. I do believe I've had more symptoms try and come on me this year. Satan has been out to shake my faith. But he can't and I stand and the sicknesses go.

I used to be like then then my doctor told me to start taking vitamin D3 everyday. Also, when I feel even slightly sick, he told me to take Golden Seal for up to 7 days. I've hardly been sick at all for the past year.

Feel better!

Well, none of us had the flu (influenza) that I know of, but there has been a nasty cold virus going around that we call "The cold that wouldn't end" and "The never-ending cold." We get a miserable cold which then goes into the sinuses or ears, and/or the bronchial tubes. We are then miserable with that for weeks. I am finally getting over mine after about 4 weeks. Someone else I know had it then just as she was recovering, caught another cold, then a third! I teach a class of elementary school-age children and have had almost a month of nearly half the class being out - different kids!

I feel lucky in that although mine dragged on, I wasn't very sick (like what would happen with the flu, or with the other person who caught 3 colds back-to-back) but it still has not been... um... pleasant. Oh, and others who got it warned me when we first get it and first start feeling better - watch out or we can relapse easily, so I took care, and didn't. Whew.

Have you tried gua sha? I am from Indonesia and in my country, people do it to cure the flu, cold and muscle pain. It is expensive if you do it in clinic, but you can do it yourself. See the video in youtube: coining/kerikan/kerokan/gua sha. You only need a clean coin( one cent or five cent is good), a camphor balm like Vicks. Scrap your skin with that, firm enough that you get it red. You can do it yourself on your chest area, but you must ask someone to do it for your back. It is really good! Get well.

Hello C.. My son, daughter, and I have been passing this thing back and forth since November. I'm beyond sick of it. I do home health care for a (very healthy) 98 year old lady, but because of her advanced age, I am not allowed to come into work if I have the slightest runny nose, cough, etc... I have missed sooo much work since November. My son is constantly coughing but because he's only 2, there's nothing I can safely give him. My daughter, who doesn't even live with us (she's an adult) but watches my son for me while I work, has it also. it's like a volley ball. As soon as I get better, I get sick again, and then so do they. I don't have health insurance and the local clinic ($60.00 a pop) only has appointments 3 months from now. I made the appointments anyway because I figure with my luck, we'll still be sick by then. I wish you luck as I understand how frustrating it is :(

I have the same problem. I am on my third illness since the beginning of December, and this time my son and husband actually caught it. I went to the doctor the second time and was told I had two separate bronchial infections. Antibiotics don't help, I took one round, and know of other people that have taken several, and they don't get better, or do after a while and catch it again. I don't think this is a viral thing though, I think there are multiple strands of a super bug. I have had this last illness for over three weeks (the others were closer to two weeks long), and am so ready to be better! Hope you feel better soon.
