Anyone Detest It When People Pick Apart Others with an Air of Superiority?

Anyone else hate it when other people focus on the negative traits in people they don't even know? I can't stand it when people harp about other people's visible "issues" and act like thier problems are so easy to solve.

I beleive we ALL have baggage. Some wear it on the outside so the world can see. It makes me sad when people trivialze other people's problems and act like if they would just to A, B & C they would be "fixed" in the eyes of the judger.

When I see people doing that I want to say "You know you should really see a shrink about all that judgement and negativity you're carrying around. It really isn't good for your health.

Happy Saturday!

So What Happened?

I see some got it but for those who didn't it's called sarcasm and/or irony.
I assure you I'm not "judging" in a serious way, just trying to have a little fun. Lighten up a little it's the WEEKEND!
Have a good one!

I think it's because it's WAY easier for most people to look at and point out other peoples issues than it is to look in the mirror and deal with their own.

Yeah it is kind of irritating.

As I am fond of saying to certain people in my life, "My feelings are valid."

Everyone's problems are just as serious to them as anyone else's, because we all live within ourselves and have only our own feelings as reference. I try not to judge others (and it's human nature...we can't help it but to sometimes judge, but I try to keep that to myself if I feel I must do so.)

I know what you mean.
Most people are aware of their own issues.
For all of the calls for personal responsibility flung around, you'd think people would be busy enough fixing their OWN stuff.
You know, like remove the plank from your own eye first?
But to answer your specific question, I guess it would be hard to pick apart others with an air of inferiority! Don't see much of that.

Yeah. When it happens out of retaliation isn't always the best, either.

It's human nature. Everyone does it in some shape or form because the only "ruler" used to measure the situation is the one based on individual circumstances and experiences.

It does not only go the way of good judging bad, but also the bad judging the good. If a person doesn't carry as much baggage as the rest of the world, they are judged by the ones carrying a lot of baggage as "perfect" and those who have no experience in a situation that is considered baggage, will judge those otherwise.

Just the nature of human.

Heather, are your inlaws related to my sister's in laws? Are many of them Alcoholics who think they are superior?

Yes, we have someone in our family who has all the (overly simplified) answers to everyone else's problems. It's pretty sad and it's affecting other people's relationships with that person. We've learned to make some hard boundaries in regard to what we tell this person, because otherwise anything remotely 'interesting' turns into judgmental gossip. **Nothing** is sacred and it's all posited with the attitude that this is deep conversation instead of just dancing on someone else's heartache. I'm not sure why this person developed this tendency to analyze the hell out of everyone else--kinda wish they would spend a bit of that time on themselves, y'know?

Here, here!!! I think it's the most insecure and unhappy people that pick others' very obvious weaknesses out. I pity people like that, honestly. If we all worried more about ourselves and less about everyone else, we'd be a happier, more mentally healthy society.

I do detest. Unless people ask for my opinion, I TRY to keep my judgements to myself...because I know I'm not perfect. EVERYONE has issues, some are just less apparent.

However, I would be lying if I said I never judged anyone else that I shouldn't have.

Yeah, the worst is when my mom gets all "Judgey McJudgerton" on me and my kids! I used to get all offended, but now I try to talk with her about things. I've learned that she just jumps to conclusions a lot and needs to be walked through things step by step by step by step. Annoying? Yes. Necessary? No, not really. But we understand each other better.

Except for when I'm just tired and don't want to deal with her!
