I've been trying to think of a unique gift to give my husband and my dad for Father's Day. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a great gift that is relatively inexpensive. I would love to have my kids make something for my husband but I was wondering if you all had any suggestions there as well? I'm thinking and thinking and time is running out. Nothing has come across to me and said "I'm it!". Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

We did a framed art picture. It is a sand printed stationary (Micheal's), with your child's footprints (brown paint), and a transparent film paper that has a poem on it called, "Walk with Me, Daddy." You can see the child's foot prints underneath the poem. I decorated the frame with a cluster of shells at the bottom left for accent. Two hole punches above the poem's title mede room for a small ribbon the attach the two papers. Even with the wooden frame, I was able to make it with $3.00. I got the idea from a craft project my son did in class. You can also change Daddy to Grand-dad, or Paw Paw, etc.

Walk With Me, Daddy

Walk with me, Daddy,
And hold my little hand,
I have so many things to learn,
That I don't yet understand.

Teach me things to keep me safe,
From dangers every day,
Show me how to do my best,
At home, at school, at play.

Every child needs a gentle hand,
To guide them as they grow,
So walk alongside me, Daddy,
We have a long way to go.

What kinds of things does your husband like? I have some great gift baskets, some with cigars and port or wine, just cigars, a golf pale gift basket with golf accessories and stuff like that. You can check it out at www.finewinesathome.com

Also, I thought the footprints with the poem on vellum was a great idea!

Last year my DD and I went to Michael's and bought one of those stepping stone kits (I think they start around $10)and some colored stones and paint. When my hubby was out one day, we decorated it and put my daughter's hand print in it and wrote "Daddy's Girl" in the wet cement. When it dried we painted it. That was his gift and he loved it! It's in our front yard and everyone that comes to the house can see it!!

I just had a B'day and my husband gave me some 'coupons' I could use for his services (Get your mind outta the gutter!!) it was for stuff like landscaping projects, cleaning projects, dishes, dinners, shopping, etc.... ALTHOUGH, I made him some 'love coupons' for V'day and now your mind can go in the gutter! He REALLY loved those and he even said he thought I could sell the little booklets I put them in.

Just a thought!
