I am new to Albuquerque, moved here from Arizona about a month ago. My husband works all day and I am at home with my 6 month old, who gets bored easily. I'm not super familiar with the area yet. I am located around the I40 and Juan Tabo area. Are there any groups around my area or really good parks? Also, does anyone know of a good hair salon? :-)

Hi Sara, I live right in your area. I'm a WAHM but I'm not in any playgroups. My daughter is almost one year old. There is a really good hair salon on Juan Tabo near Constitution called Protege. They are the training center for Mark Pardo which is a really nice and expensive salon. Protege charges a lot less than Pardos, around $20.00 and you also get a little neck massage. Just make sure you make an appointment a week or two in advance; they're always booked. It's actually been a while since I've been there because I'm not one for making appointments. Good Luck!

Welcome to Albuquerque! I don't live near you to help out with the boredom thing, but I do know of a GREAT salon. Try Joseph's Salon. It's an upscale place located near Old Town. But the prices are pretty reasonable. The girls there are PHENOMINAL! Ask for Veronica and tell her L. Higgins sent you. She is the owner of the place and really really incredible. You'll love it.
Hi Sara! Welcome to Albuquerque. I am also a SAHM. My is about to be 9 months old and is needing a friend. Our community is off of Eubank and Central. We live in a little gated community and we love it. We don't know many people here with children and would love to have a play group. As for a salon, I'm still looking.
