I know some afternoon preschools exist out there, but I only know of some in Downers Grove. Are there any closer to Addison, Itasca, Bloomingdale, etc? I just want a two or three day program as well, and one that is reputable, of course. Thanks in advance if you know of any...

So What Happened?

Thanks for mentioning some of these programs. Now I will call and see if we can visit some of them. This helped a lot, as I am a teacher on leave this year and am trying to determine if I will go back next year. If I can find an afternoon preschool that works for my son, I probably will. Thanks again...

My daughter attends the preschool program through the Glendale Heights park district. It's her 2nd year, and she loves school and we love her teacher. They offer both morning and afternoon classes. The 3/4 year olds go on Tues. and Thurs. and the pre-K class is MWF. It's located at the "Sports Hub" on Fullerton, between Bloomingdale and Glen Ellyn Roads. I am a teacher, and I would highly recommend this preschool to anyone. Let me know if you need any more info.

We sent our daughter through our Park District in Glendale Heights. She loved it and it got her ready for kindergarten.

I sent my daughter to St. Luke's School in Itasca. It's Lutheran, but other than a few minutes of chapel each week, the religion is not overpowering. (Which was good for us.) It is a wonderful, loving, nurturing center, very professional and safe. (I am a teacher myself, so I am very critical.) The rates were affordable and my daughter, five years later, still fondly looks back at her experiences there. Good luck!

I know B-dale park district has it. I work as a gymnastics coach there, and a lot of our kids come straight from the preschool to gymnastics class.
From what I can tell, (and I've worked in lots of preschools) it is a good value for the money. Not too fancy. Also, I've not seen a lot of turnover in the teachers.

Why don't you call the local park districts and if they don't ask them to recommend someone. Usually daycares have morning and afternoon programs and would welcome a part timer.

Roselle Park District has Morning and Afternoon preschool classes. All of my nieces and Nephews have gone there and my son is currently in the soon to be 3 program. The Teachers are great and my son loves it.
