Hey Mamas!!

I've been trying to figure out things that I can do with my 9 month old like activities instead of just throwing some toys on the floor and play some nursery rhymes on the stereo. What kind of activities did u guys do or are doing with ur 9 month old? We already read books ALOT and it comes in with the bedtime routine. I'd like to do things that will help her learn too. Any suggestions???

What can I do next?

What about sounds or opposites? They are like sponges right now, and the sooner you can get her to hear sounds and try to make them (however slurred...lol), the better.

You can make sounds by sounding out letters. Maybe even have some flash cards with letters. (It's amazing how much they absorb so young, even if they can't say it.) You can also work on opposites like:
- soft (towel) vs. hard (book)
- smooth (page of a book) vs. bumpy (teething toy bumps)
- warm (warm cloth) vs. cold (icy cloth)
- etc.

Take her to the park and point things out to her. Listen to the kids laughing, birds singing, watch the kids playing, etc.

I went outside with my babies a lot. Go to the park or even art museums, aquariums and zoos. The baby will love it and you will get out of the house.

My kids loved Discovery Toys at that age and also coloring, finger painting, tearing up magazines, playing with pots and pans (just bang on them), take her outside let her feel leaves, plants, flowers, rocks, dirt, grass and anything else you can get your hands on. Crayola came out with the new crayon's for little ones they are round and have a hard cover so they will not eat them. They say for 18 months or older, but we used them as soon as they could hold them. Blocks are always fun for building. You can also get her flash cards and start teaching her different words (only do a couple a day).
