7Th Generation Diapers? or Favorite Overnight Diapers??

We primarily use cloth diapers, but do use disposables over night and really long car trips. I used Huggies initially, but found that once we were leaving the baby (almost 4mo) in the same diaper all night he would have that gel stuff on him. I like the pampers, but would only use the sensitives and I can't find them in a small pack of size 2 (well, like a 30ct or something). I used Pampers with DS #1, but since he was potty trained they had changed it and added that DryMax stuff that alot of people were saying was causing diaper rashes. I don't know if thats true or not. But being that I don't change the baby at night unless he's poopy or soaked through, I want to try something different. I emailed 7th Generation and they are sending me some samples to try, but have any of you used them overnight? How well do they hold up? Do you have another preference that won't leave gel stuff on the baby? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I wasn't really impressed with the absorbency of 7th Generation. Huggies always gives my kids diaper rash, but Pampers Baby Dry never has, and they absorb really well. Haven't noticed any gel.

My friends who cloth diaper usually put two pads inside the diaper for overnight and long car trips and that works great for them, although it does make it a bit bulkier. You may have already tried that. For overnight I use the Huggies Overnights. They are great and super absorbent. I don't usually have the "gel" issue when I use those, although if it does happen a few nights in a row then I usually know I have to go up a size in diaper.

I cloth diaper with BumGenius one size pockets. I currently have my 4 month old, 19 month old, & my potty training 3 yr old (at night) in these. My 4 mo. old stays dry through the night in these, but my 19 needs a change before I go to bed. Soon he'll be going through the super soaker age (like my older 2 did) & I will have to add a doubler (Joey Kicks hemp). Good luck!

we used pampers baby dry overnight and never had a problem. This was 4 years ago, I dont know if they still work as well, but when we have another baby I'll probably use them again.

I too used cloth and the occasional disposable.. I bought 7th generation or Earth's Best because I wanted to avoid the chemicals of the others. I found Earth's Best to be A LOT better than 7th Generation. My son always leaked through the Seventh Generation. The only reason I ever bought 7th Generation was because they were sold in my grocery store 5 min away where I had to buy the Earth's Best at Babies R Us and actually plan the trip :-) I believe you can buy them on line though if you go through them faster than I did. Good luck.

we had to stop using pampers also because what they added gave our daughter yeast infections....honestly TARGET brand is very absorbant i have found and it does not leave the gel on their skin...
ill also ad that my daughter gets a rash if she looks at something the wrong way...we took her to the beach last summer and she got a blistery rash from the salt water....how does that happen??? so when we found this we stuck with it lol

I've got 4 kids and have tried MANY brands of diapers. I really love the Fisher Price brand, and they make overnight diapers.

I use the Target brand (up & up) of diapers and they are GREAT! Both of my children are allergic to the chlorine used to bleach other diapers (Pampers, Huggies, Luvs, etc) and 7th Generation are super expensive in comparison, so these have been a life saver for me! They hold up pretty good overnight. I never had any blow outs or leaks. Now that my daughter is older (2 yo) we occassionally see one leak overnight, but not often.

Huggies makes a great overnight diaper if chlorine is not a concern.

i have a son and didn't care for 7th Generation at night, so went ahead and tried the Pampers Extra Protection (with Dry Max) despite the diaper rash warnings, they work excellently, and we've never had a rash : )

I've never used 7th Gen but I LOVE Happy Heinys (cloth diapers for those who aren't familiar) for overnight and they are super absorbant.

I like LUVS in a size larger than I usually put my son in during the day. (IE, he wears size 4 during the day, size 5 at night). I've had only 4 or 5 leaks using LUVS in the 2 years I've used them, and i can't necessarily blame that on the diaper, but instead on myself for giving my son too many liquids before bed. I've never had gel problems with the Luvs that I can remember.

Well I think 4 months is way too little to use these but ever since my DD would wake up soaked on one side or the other from leaking we started to use pampers pull ups at night. Since starting this we havent had one leak and they are super absorbant (I think its because they are expected to stand up to a bigger than 'baby sized' bladder)
Good Luck
