Hi! My daughter will be 4 this October (just b/4 halloween). Last year we did the costume party. This year I'd like to do something crafty and theme related for girls and boys, but don't have a clue! Any thoughts? Budget is a concern. Thanks AGAIN!

What can I do next?

My niece had a "Divalicious" party for her 4th bday. The girls all got their hair and makeup and nails done and the boys were "rock stars". They got fake tattoos, black nail polish etc.

Then they had a little stage in the center of the room and did a runway type walk where they showed off their divaliciousness! Didn't cost much for the makeup and nail polish and few trinkets. The decorated a little handbag and the boys decorated a cheap wallet.

I did potpourri jars. You can get the jars at Michael's or JoAnn Shop, Hobby Lobby. and then get some round precut tulle in any color. add some rubber bands and some ribbons.

You can do it with Harvest scented potpourri or whatever fragrance you like. the kids can decorate the jars with foam cut outs of jack-o-lantern pieces. They make cute party favors (thus saving you a huge expense for treat bags)

You can carve a pumpkin and roast the seeds. play bobbing for apples, and pin the O on the Ghosts. for games.

Hope this helps,

Check out the inchmark blog for a balloon themed b-day party. Not sure about the darts for 4-year olds. If you search her blog for party, you will see some other ideas.

My daughter will be 3 on Oct. 24 and she loves pirates/mermaids/treasure, etc. So we are doing a treasure hunt party. We'll do a real treasure hunt and I'm thinking about hiring someone to make balloon swords for the kids to play with. I'm doing pirate treasure fruit snacks instead of goody bags and maybe buy some pirate eye patches. Just get creative. What does your little one like? My niece turned 4 today and yesterday my sister threw her a frosty the snowman party, lol. She is obsessed with Frosty and so my sister made a snowman cake, put up a giant blowup snowman, etc. It was so cute!

we had lots of fun decorating pumpkins with stickers last year. i wanted to get the kind of stickers with facial features to make the pumpkins look like jack-o-lanterns but ended up just getting a bunch of halloween themed stickers and the kids loved it. i loved it because it was not messy. i found a lot of good stickers at dollar stores. hope your party is great!
