I have been sleeping alot these past few days. I feel like the baby hasn't been moving so much, is that do to my laziness. Do you think the baby sleeps when I sleep.
Thanks

Babies are squished in at this stage of the game--lots LESS room to polka around in-utero!

Get all the sleep you want!

First of all, you're not being lazy! You're 39 weeks pregnant, and probably exhausted. :) I found that the baby didn't move as much during the very end of my pregnancies. I think perhaps there just isn't quite enough room in there any longer for the baby to move. Perhpaps the baby has dropped too. I think that may also cause a decrease in movement. You're almost there! Good luck to you!

BTW, I notice most of the answers you're getting say "sleep now, while you can." Many people also gave me this advice...it made me nervous. Well, I was so fortunate to have such an easy baby, that I got as much sleep as I needed when she was newborn. I slept so terribly during my pregnancy that to be able to finally sleep 3-4 hours at a time, between nursing, after she was born was a huge relief. So you just never know. :)

Baby does move a lot less at this stage , mainly because they are out of room and any movement you do feel is just a stretch or slight shift. Make the most of your naps , it's natures way of getting you rested for labor and then looking after a new born. Lucky you being able to sleep so well some moms are sooo uncomfortable at this stage they can't sleep well at all.

Congrats on being a new mommy very soon!

That baby is growing so fast right now and that is why you are sleeping so much. There is not as much room for the baby to move around in there so don't be concerned. You are not lazy and just appreciate the fact that you can sleep now because you will become sleep deprived here soom

Get as much sleep as you need to. The baby is running out of room in your belly, that's why your not feeling any movement. Don't worry. I'm guessing you'll be delivering between now and next Friday. Good Luck. Congrats and keep us posted! :)

Oh, yeah, get your 'sleep bank' caught up and enjoy it while you can. Your body is getting ready to do some serious work! Not due to laziness, due to growing a baby!

My little guy didn't move too much when I was that far along. And it was a good thing: I'm really short, so it felt like his feet were practically in my throat.

Sleep now while you can!!! lol. When I was prego, my baby actually moved MORE when I was trying to sleep... It's like my body's movements lulled her to sleep, but if I was calm she would get bored and start the acrobatics. Be glad that your baby is calm when you are sleeping... my hubby took a video of me trying to sleep, but you could see my DD's body parts (we are thinking it was a foot and elbow) zipping around (raising a 2'' high lump...) for about 15 minutes straight... It HURT!!! lol. She didn't move around nearly as often though...

You are sleeping a lot because your body knows you are about to lose a lot of sleep when that baby is born. The baby isn't moving as much because he/she is out of room in your tummy, there is no where to go. As far as sleeping when you sleep, I think all babies are different. All four of mine were awake when I was asleep and slept when I was up and about. I think when I was moving, it rocked them to sleep. You just never know.

Congrats on your first and hold on for the ride!

Oh, get as much sleep as you can right now! I slept a lot too when I was pregnant with my first, naps everyday around 3pm...I'm 38 weeks with #2 and I just pray for a full night of sleep...no such thing as a nap now! Congratulations and Happy Mother's Day!!
Side note...I didn't feel my first daughter move as much at this stage either, but THIS ONE moves NON STOP! At this point it's pretty uncomfortable as there is not much room left!

Just sleep.

My daughter in-utero, did NOT sleep when I slept. She moved around more at night.
My son, was more mellow.... did not move around as much as she did.
But boy is he active now!

They have less room to move around, at 39 weeks.
Or simply ask your OB/GYN about it.
