"Crazy" Fetus = Crazy Baby? Jff...

I am 30 weeks pregnant and this baby is CRAZY!!! It moves almost nonstop all day long and always has really spastic, strong movements. It makes me laugh!! I'm grateful that it is active and healthy, BUT I'm not going to lie...I'm scared that he/she is going to come out and just be crazy and hyper! Is fetal activity any indication of how they are once they are born?

My son is VERY VERY active and busy, but I can't remember what he was like in utero.
My daughter is really calm and chill, and I think she was active in utero, but not like this!!

I'm just curious what you all think or have experienced!! Thanks!

What can I do next?

It was for my son! He was so crazy in the womb! That kid never stopped moving and I would have to make my husband sit there and feel it for a few minutes just to get an idea of what I had going on inside me! My little guy is still extremely active, even strangers comment on how busy he is! LOL! Sorry, but you might be in for a wild ride! ;)

My second was like that and he is the calmest little guy. My first was moderately active and he has the energy of the energizer bunny!!

Not sure if those are related however my daughter was a "crazy" fetus as well, you know how they say to count 10 kicks in 10 mins? Well I got 10 kicks in 10 seconds if not more kicks! And yes, she is the most hyper active toddler I know! I thought girls would be calm and peaceful (I was like that!) but not my girl :) Honestly I dont think she ever walked she started to run and jump right away! And now she is 3 and still bouncing off the walls.. i dont know where this energy comes from!

My third daughter felt like she was trying to punch and kick her way out of my belly from weeks 28 till I delivered at 42 weeks :o) BUT, she is the most content and happy baby!! She only fusses if she's tired or hungry, sleeps well and her smile lights up the room.

In my case it was. My son was crazy busy in my belly and still is 2 years later!! With that said, he is a very happy and easy child. VERY busy, but has been the easiest baby and toddler ever.

Funny, I asked my doctor the same question when I was pregnant with my son b/c he was so active in the womb. He told me there was no research suggesting there was a link. Yet, my son, now almost 4 yrs old, never sits still. Even in his sleep he's very restless. We definitely have our hands full with him. :)

Well it certainly was for my 2nd!!!!! We called her super-baby in utero, and it didn't stop once she was an infant! We got her a superbaby ornanment for her 2nd Christmas, lol. She sat at 5 months, pulled up at 6 months, crawled at 7 months, walked at 9 months and by the time she was 10 months, she was climbing and jumping off of the couch!!! She's 3 1/2 now and is still absolutely non-stop! Everyone always tells me, "Now I know why you're so skinny!" Lol. I'm always chasing after her! I wouldn't have her any other way though!! She's one of a kind!

I am very short-waisted....so there wasn't much moving room!

1st child: wild man
2nd child: born with heart/lung defects, so not much to go on
3rd child & the most active: pretty well-rounded, active when he needs to be...& able to veg out at other times.

I also noticed that certain activities & foods triggered different responses. Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories!

Our oldest never stopping moving. He kicked ALL the time and never seemed to sleep. Eventually lodged himself in my ribs and seemed ticked about it, so he'd punch me. That was a miserable pregnancy. Even my OB was surprised how active he was until the very end. He just never slowed down. Even refused to cooperate during the ultrasound when the technician tried to move him. At eight, we know now he has severe ADHD. In our case, it was a very clear indicator of how he was after he was born.

Our daughter was the opposite and kicked sometimes but seemed to sleep for stretches of time. She was a fussier baby but is definitely our calmer child. At almost five, she's a regular, focused child.

My son was constantly moving when I was pregnant with him, but he turned out to be very easy going and mellow. My daughter barely moved, in fact I was worried throughout my pregnancy. She's the one we can't keep still.

Yes. My mom said I was her most uncomfortable pregnancy, always moving and kicking. I screamed and cried when I came out and have been ever since (her words, not mine). Where she is meek, proper and sophisticated, I am loud, clumsy and a bit of a goofball.

But I am also the funnest, most creative, smartest (ha!) and friendliest person in my family, if that says anything.

My baby wasn't very active unless I ate, and it never failed - as soon as I would eat and at least an hour or 2 after that he'd be flippin around doing acrobat, yoga and body combat all at once.

my oldest son was calm and he is a calm kid. Now my youngest was extremely active when it rained when I was pregnant. He is for the most part an active kid. Boy do we know better than the weather man when it is going to rain. We can tell by my youngest he gets really hyper and clingy at the same time if its going to rain. And his fits increase dramatically when it is fixing to rain.

My daughter was very active and still is now and she is 3. I can't get her to sit down long enough to do anything. I am 21 weeks now and this one not so active as of yet. I hope that he is alot calmer then his sister! LOL

My youngest would go a long time without moving in utero. I would have to do movement counts, it really scared me! Now, when he is awake, he is super active! But he can and will sleep for long periods. I put him down at 8p and if I let him he'll sleep until 10 or 11a! So, now I'm thinking he was just sleeping away in utero!

Haha! My oldest was really active in utero, and he is chock full of naughty energy! I think my daughter was a little calmer in the womb - although I really can't remember; that pregnancy was a bit of a blur - and so far she is a lot mellower (KNOCK WOOD!).

My daughter was active in utero, and as a baby, she was too.

My son was real mellow in utero.... and as a baby, he was easy.
He is now 4 though, and VERY active and full of gusto.

I think it is a sign of things to come :-) My oldest kicked and kicked and kicked and now he is very athletic and hardly sits still. My youngest stretched and looked like he was doing tai chi in my belly....and he is much more grounded and can sit still much better. I wouldn't worry about hyperactivity, though. Even though my oldest loves to move and be active he's not a hyper personality---just active. He's nearly 7 and is playing up two levels in soccer to play with 9 year olds next year---maybe you have a budding athlete on your hands!

I have one child who I swear was already practicing Thai kickboxing in utero, and she is indeed my little energy ball even at age 10. She is in constant motion and has never needed as much sleep as the books say a child should. She gave up napping at two and a half, and today she comes out of 75 minutes of gymnastics ready to come home and practice one-handed cartwheels for another hour. My other child was fairly mellow in utero, stretching and rolling more than kicking, and still for much longer periods of time. He still needed naps when he was five, and is calmer and more focused than his sister, although still an active child. Who knows if it's an indicator? But in my household, the level of activity before birth has indeed mirrored the level of activity since.

My son was very active only when I talked. When he was first born, if I wasn't holding him, he wasn't happy. Now that he's older he is active no matter what, but when I'm around, he is the happiest (which of course makes me happy)
