Hi Moms, I'm attending a 30th anniversary celebration for some friends of mine that I haven't seen in about 15 years. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to see them again, but have no idea what to get them.

They live in Anderson, CA, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a nice restaurant in the area where I can maybe buy them a gift certificate?

Any other suggestions would also be welcome. The traditional gift is "pearls" but that doesn't help much - I don't want to spend more than around $50.00 and that sounds more like something he would give her.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Might I suggest giving them a couple (or one) bottle of really nice wine - think $25-50/bottle? Or maybe a really nice crystal vase or something else special. Something from Tiffany's perhaps? Good-luck.

You're definitely going to have to search outside of Anderson if you want a really nice place. I live in Cottonwood, about 2 miles south of Anderson so I know the Redding area pretty well. Nellos, Maritime, Rivers, and Market Street Steakhouse are probably the fanciest in Redding and I'm sure all of those ones do giftcards. Also, Dry Creek Station in Bella Vista is wonderful! Its not fancy, but seriously the best. It will be about a 20 min drive for your friends though but I recomend it. Hope this helps. Oh ya, if you are absolutely set on a place in Anderson, go with Mary's Pizza Shack. They have good Italian food.

Anderson, CA is really close to Redding. You might want to broaden your internet search when looking at restaurants.

on restaurant.com you can also buy generic gift certificates that are redeemable at participating restaurants. We do that for my in-laws, who are on the road in their RV, so they can do their own research and decide where to go.

I've used Yelp.com to find places near people to buy gift certificates.

Looks like Anderson has a new hotel/spa/restaurant that's getting rave reviews:

Mixed reviews on the restaurant in the hotel, but it would probably still make a nice gift:

You can call the hotel and I'm sure they will be happy to send you a $50 gift certificate for the spa or restaurant.

Have fun!

Go to a site called Restaurant.com and put in the zip code for Anderson, it will bring up lot of nice restaurants in the area that offer. Or simply google "Where to eat in Anderson Ca" and you should get a lot of ideas...when I did it there were several that looked really interesting!!!
Good luck
