This market is going CRAZY with 3D movies in the theaters.... what is the big deal ? I went to see one this past weekend and I was not impressed. It is not like the IMAX 3D. I don't even think the color of the movie was all that great. They make so much money off this too ! Extra for the glasses...... Then every movie that comes out is " See it in 3D " ! Nemo , Beauty and Beast, & Lion King all have/or will be remade..... for 3D . It is just nuts.
Any comments ?????

I agree, I hate that they have everything in 3D nowadays. I went to take my sister to a regular movie, and it only played in 3D so it was either spend the extra bucks for a ticket or not at all. Frustrates me. Cost $13 a ticket!

I miss the days where you could go to a matinee for only $4!

I don't like 3D. It bothers my eyes and if you take the glasses off it seems blurry. Not a fan...just another way for the theatre to overcharge (glasses) that they in turn want you to turn back in.

I HATE 3d movies! The only time I went to one in a theater was Toy Story 3, and within 5 minutes I had a headache. I had to take my glasses off for the rest of the movie & watch a blurry version of the movie.

I wish they'd just re-release the good movies in theaters in regular format. I would LOVE to take my kids to see Beauty and the Beast in the theater, but I will never again go to a 3d one.

And don't get me started on those 3d televisions. Bah!

we don't do 3D. I have vision in only 1 eye and you need 2 eyes for 3D. its all about depth perception. So its not even a question for us. we see it in the regular theater or not at all. my daughter takes the grandkids occasionally to the 3D stuff then complains that it cost her $40 for 3 of them and no one even liked it anymore than a regular show. so no 3D for us

I keep asking my self if it is something wrong with my eyes because I also don't see the WOW factor.
In fact the only time I have was on Universal on one of the rides, I think spider men, so cool!
It also piss me off that they stared the whole thing with paying for the glasses and asking you to returning them for "eco" reasons, mhhh, wouldn't be better if we keep them and not only re-use them and not pay again, and again for them?
So they stop saying that, ha.
Sadly enough, I keep being foul and keep going hoping "that" movie it would be better, so far none.
Bahhh!

My daughter and I went to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D just yesterday. Honestly, I don't get it either. The movie was lovely, but it really didn't need to be in 3D- I don't see where it enhanced the experience at all!

Further, my daughter wears glasses and it was hard for her to adjust to having two pair balanced on her nose. I thought the glasses were uncomfortable. Not thinking I will dash out to another movie in 3D again any time soon.

We literally go to the movies every single weekend. With the kids on the weekends we have them and just us on the weekends we don't have the kids. And we don't pay for the 3D movies. I don't like them and they don't seem to be worth the extra cost. The kids don't think so either!

I avoid all 3D movies....because I wear glasses and have severe astigmatisms. So the effects are lost on me, plus it's blurry and gives me a headache.

I encourage my kids to skip them as well.

We don't go to 3D movies, the 3D feeling wears off soon after, and my son doesn't stand the glasses the whole movie anyway.
My husband and I think its just the novelty to get the kids ask their parents to shell out more money.
Even at the beginning of last year you could reuse your 3D glasses and not pay the 3D fee, but they don't let you do that anymore, they even ask you to return them (they put recycle your glasses bins) outside the theater.
I think regular films are just fine.

LOVE Real3D.

But the movies actually have to be made for them. Meaning, a company can spend a TON on the 3d (take of the glasses and you can't see squat), or they can skimp and there are only tiny bits and pieces that are really 3D and it's just gimicky.

AVATAR (to show an example of phenom 3D) I watched, I forget how many times. 7? 8? 11? A lot.

When it's done well, it's as vibrant and full of depth as real life. You can shift your focus anywhere and it's as clear as day.

When it's done badly, you don't even NEED the glasses and you can still see everything. And you can't focus in any area *except* the little piece they've 3d'd out. :P

IMAX3d I rather despise UNLESS I'm in an actual spherical theatre. On a flatscreen it just gives me a headache, the colors are washy, and there's blur around the edge of the screen. We HAVE a spherical IMAX theatre in town, but we rarely go (a couple times a year at most), so we stick with Real3D.

Soooooooo HAPPY Santa brought us a 3dTV &blueray for xmas! I can't wait to pick up the really well done movies that have come out so I can fall down the rabbit hole with them!
