we have been to lots of them, but always for at least 2 yr olds...so can't speak for a 1 yr. old party....i am sure it would be fine, but since some of the kids can't walk super well yet it will probably be a lot of parent time playing w/ individual kids...you'll get bubbles and parachute time for sure.
for the cost, i might wait til 2...personally. BUT that being said the one in Plano (now Dallas too) is run by amazing people...they would do a great job

Love Gymboree b-day parties!! I did several for my children there through the years. One of my favorites, was a Gymboree art party for my daughter's 4th birthday. I think they do a great job, especially for a 1 year old.

We had a combined 2 yr old party there for my daughter and 3 other little girls turning 2 and it was GREAT! They took care of everything, ran the party, had age appropriate guided activities with music and singing. It was so age appropriate and fun. Well worth the money especially if you combine it other friends like we did. Highly recommend it.

IT all depends on who you get for a teacher. If they are a genuinely happy person, the kids wil love it, but chances are that you could get one of those I-really-don't-care-as-long-as-i'm-getting-paid-types, than good luck! Find out whothe teachers are and ask for reviews on them. It is expensive for a 1 year old, honestly, the only people who this is memorable for is the adults or older kids. Your 1 year old won't remember it, He will just be super psyched to have that big tasty cake in front of him to dig into, no matter where you are! but kids do love music1 I tried this once and next go around I will just stay home w/cake and my own music, and wal-0mart bubbles, kids have fun anywhere! Good Luck, and Happy 1st B-day to your little guy!

YEARS ago I did my son's 1st party at Gymboree and it was great. I highly recommend because the venue is great for kids up to 3yrs old..in my opinion. More than likely you will have some older kids and maybe some younger and they all have fun. Plus, you do not have to clean your house!
