Hi.. I recently asked another question about suggestions for my daughter's 1st birthday, which is on Halloween day... I didn't get many responses..
So I want to try another question, a little different...
I think for the party we're going to have kids bring their costumes (it will only be family and very close friends) and around 4/5pm ish it will turn into a halloween party and the kids can trick or treat together. Before that I'll try to make it more aimed at her 1st birthday :) Sound ok?
Earlier, during the part of the party aimed at her birthday, i plan to put her in a cute halloween party dress.....
Anyway, what I was wondering was what I should dress her up as? My oldest daughter (who will be 5 1/2 at the time) wants to be a "Witch with a green face" - as she puts it..lol
Should I try to match them up some or make it something that goes together? I really don't know what to dress the birthday girl up as. Any suggestions ? :) Thanks

What can I do next?

Sorry to hear that you didn't get much response from your other request. As for the costume, maybe make your little one Dorothy to go along with the big sis witch. The other thing I'd say is you know your child best, but generally with little ones the simpler the better, and if Samantha gets overwhelmed easily at all, all of the excitement may be a bit too much. I'd just hate for you to put so much into this and have it be melt-down city. As I said, you know your kids best, but my kids and I can usually only handle a couple of hours of lots of kids. Maybe have the party in the afternoon and have each girl have a friend stick around for the trick-or-treating part.
Good luck!

I think a party then trick-or-treating with family & friends is a great idea. It will be especially pleasing to her guests if you live in a neighborhood that has houses close together, is well-lit & safe.
If your older daughter wants to be a 'witch with a green face', that sounds like the witch from the Wizard of Oz - so why not dress your 1 y/o as Dorothy - or the lion??

I would make your older daughter the wicked witch of the west and make you younger daughter dorothy complete with red shoes. You could even go the route of the good witch Glinda and dress her in a pretty witch costume.
