1 Year Old Birthday Party Location Ideas (In the Winter)

My daughter is turning 1 in February. We are looking for affordable ideas of where we can have her birthday party. We have a large family and several friends that we want to invite to her party (approximately 60+ people). Since it is the winter, we can't be outside - any ideas for the western/southwestern suburbs? We live in Romeoville and I've looked into the recreation center at our Park District. They do have a large room for rent that has a kitchen available to use. I was just looking around for other ideas too. Our house is too small to have everyone we would like to invite.

Also if anyone has any good referrals for Face Painters or Magicians, please pass them my way!

What can I do next?

Oh I have the same problem LOL. My daughters bday is Dec 10 and mine is feb 4 so its been an age old problem in my family. I dont know anything about your area. but we usually have ours at a churches gathering building. Or like you said at a park. I was thinking about having my daughters at a bowling alley this weekend or your local movie theatre probably has a room to rent and you get a discount on movie tickets. Sometimes if your town has a town hall or community center they having meeting places that are cheap to rent out or sometimes free.

Same here. Daughter is turning 1 in January so we are having her b-day party at the park district recreational center. She is not age appropriate to have a party at a lot of other places yet.

check out www.kidwinks.com. Also, if you are looking to get catered food, try Guilty Party Catering at ###-###-#### (reasonably priced and awesome food) they are located at 32 Foxcroft Road, Naperville. They deliver too.

Can you possibly have 2 parties, say one for those who have kids and the other for those that don't have kids?

We had rented out what used to be restaurant attached to the Ditka Dome (in Bolingbrook on 53). It's a new restaurant, but can easily hold 60 people.

Children's museums (like the one in Naperville) can be a great place for winter birthdays. Especially if you have any older children attending. Most also have an area that is developmentally appropriate for kids 2 and under so your LO would be able to enjoy it just as much as the big kids. :)
