Preparing Children For/coping with Impending Death of Grandma/mom from Cancer

How have you dealt with caring for a parent struggling with terminal cancer (or any illness, for that matter) and helping your children prepare for their death? How did you cope with strong emotions? New to Area...son with Leukemia

My son has been receiving treatment for leukemia at MCV for over 2 years now. We have recently located to Virginia Beach...no family, no friends...very scary. We are considering treatment at Kings Daughters, but know nothing about it and our son is very reluctant to change clinics. Any help...connections...thoughts would be so appreciated.
