Ok I'm starting to do YOGA but I have a few questions what part of the day do you feel is best to workout? Morning, afternoon or night? and if at night I heard not to eat before you workout is that true? Also if you have done a yoga tape which one did you like? Thank you!!

What can I do next?

I think you should do your yoga workout anytime of the day that works for you. For me that seems to be in the evening. You can eat before doing yoga but I would suggest keeping it really, really light and try to stay away from drinking orange juice and coffee before you exercize. I would probably just eat a piece of fruit, do my yoga and then eat a full meal.

The company Gaiam makes some really great quality yoga DVDs. My favorite instructors right now are Seane Corn and Rodney Yi. You can pick up the DVDs at Target.

I think you will really like yoga once you start it. I've found that it's a physical exercize but it quiets the mind as well, which is really nice when you are someone like me and is always thinking about three things at once.

Enjoy.

Personally, I like to do my exercise in the morning. I can take a shower and start my day. I've done yoga and I don't get really sweaty, so I kind of feel like I can do it anytime. Honestly, I'm a SAHM of two young girls, so I just get my work out in when I can! :) I've heard the Jillian Michaels Yoga is really good. I think Bob Harper has one out too. I'm a bit of a Biggest Loser fanatic :) I know the workouts by those trainers WORK, so that's why I tend to stick with them.

I don't think it matters what time of day; whenever you can fit it in your schedule. Definitely don't eat a lot beforehand, though, because you'll be in poses upside-down and other directions that might not be pretty after a meal.

I have used Kathy Smith's beginning yoga DVD for years and love it. I'm not very coordinated and even I can do the poses. She also provides tips on avoiding the wrong poses, which is critical. You can really tweak your back and other muscles if you don't do the poses correctly. I would go on Amazon and read the reviews to find a DVD that's ideal for your interest and skill level.

Anytime your body is ready, do it. I prefer Wai Lana's Yoga. Its an old one they used to play on PBS. She is very calming, soft spoken and she has 3 levels of yoga. Trust me when I say start at the beginning. If you not, you will be standing on your head doing yoga at first go! Im serious. Good Luck. Yoga is great to do at night because of the stretching. Oh and dont eat before doing it (heavy meal) its easier not to have a full belly cause you will squish into it a few times. and be upside down
