Would This Be Weird

I am pregnant with a girl whom I was planning on naming Madelynn but now I kind of like the name like the name Nora, but the thing is my son's name is Nicholas. Nick and Nora...(like the clothing line) would that sound weird?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks for all the responses! Judging by how many people haven't even heard of that clothing line I guess not as many people will question it as I thougt (it was a line that was mostly in small botiques then Target picked them up about 6 years ago. they are mostly pajamas and other intimates. maybe the only reason I think of it is that I worked at Target when they started getting them in and they made a big deal about it) our last name makes a lynn sound at the end so now I am thinking that Madelynn might even sound odd but am not sure...well I have about 18 weeks to decided lol.

I would just think of the movie Nick and Nora's infinate playlist ... but I do like it. Or you can go with Madelynn Nora or Noralynn Nora for short!

If you like the name Nora name her Nora. For all you know he'll grow up to marry a Nora and you'll end up with a Nick & Nora anyway (true story-- my mom and SIX of her cousins ALL married men named David-- which is why I laugh when someone says that someone "stole" their baby name and now they can't use it because they can't have two "X"s in the family)

Actually, Nick & Nora goes back to the 30s-40s. The Thin Man series was my first encounter with the names! Excellent movies, even 70 years later!

It's also a line of Mystery novels, I love them both. I think you should name them what you want.

Ok, I'm showing my age here but my first thought was "The Thin Man" starring William Powell and Myrna Loy - then if you get/have a dog you'll have to name it Asta. I had no idea there was a clothing line. Seriously tho, name your baby whatever you feel comfortable with. Go thru what I call the "name game" and make sure it sounds good with the middle and last name. Be sure and check out what her initials will be too. Sometimes the combinations can be bad. Good luck!!

love Nora... When my sis was first born, people thought she was named after an obscure 70's actress that is long since retired. It would have been sad if that held my mom back from using that name, since the name hasn't been identified with the actress in a long while.

I'm so sorry....but yes...I think it would be odd...not that that's always a BAD thing! :)

Haha! People probably will ask you about it (I have heard of it) but I wouldn't worry about it. Nora is a cute name! I have a friend who named her kids Luke and Owen, like the Wilson brothers...she didn't do it on purpose either but a lot of people ask her about it and she just rolls her eyes!
