Hi!! I feel so lazy this time of year!! I need some good exercise ideas. I am not a fan of going to the gym. I like to get my exercise in by doing something fun (hiking) or productive (yard work). Usually in the spring summer and fall I am naturally more active b/c I'm outside, but this winter has me feeling lazy!! Help!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I love all the ideas....especially the ones about keeping busy in the house by deep cleaning and redecorating....I'm even considering repainting a room. Mall walking is another good one!! I have used our on demand cable feature for free exercise tv before, I should revisist that one. Thanks again!!!

How about the new Zamba dance classes that are really work-outs...also I just asked my hubby for the Wii Fit for my birthday...I was told it is a great alternative until you can get outside or go to the gym! :)

Is there a room in your house that could use a change? Maybe that could be something you can do, moving furniture, deep clean the area, re-organize, breathe new life into an old peice of furniture ... there are things you can do if you get creative about it.

What kind of cable do you have? We have Verizon, and last week when we were iced in, I searched for (free) exercise channels and found some good yoga/pilates workouts.

I agree with what the other lady said: Mall walking. Or, really bundle up and go outside to walk. I have been doing that but I got plantar fasciitis and I miss walking terribly! Good luck!

Do you have a mall nearby? When I get the winter blahs, I like to go to the mall and take walks around. Ours has a little indoor play area and my 4 year old likes to play there, and when we've been cooped up, the change of scenery is nice.

I have been laying around so much lately my body hurts! I wish I had a wii, but i don't so when it's too cold to go to the gym, I break out my recorded excercise class. I get FIt Tv. It's a great channel. They have a wide variety of excercise shows. I record the bellydance and zumba classes. They sometimes have the "Flirty Girl" erotic dance class on... not boring.

I love Donna's advise, LOL!!

In the winter, the most exercise I get is cleaning... but I really take this time to move furniture around and get those dust bunnies! You know you're not going to want to deep clean once it's pretty enough to play outside, so roll up your sleeves, tackle one room at a time, sell the junk you don't use anymore, and spoil yourself with your extra cash, then relax in your nice clean house!!
