Hi!
Everywhere I go I see these white window decals with a picture of a sport or activity and the child's name. (I hope you can tell what Im talking about from that lousy description :P) My daughter just started dance and I was wondering where do you get one?
Thanks!!

What can I do next?

You can go to Garland Sports in South Garland on Broadway and they will make one for you for $10 or $12. I do however agree with the comments below... so we made one for my daughter for T-ball and we did put the team's name and her number on it, but not her name. I am one of those paranoid people too, but I figure they are not going to be able to figure out where she plays and come looking for her. They do always say though that if a preditor knows a child's name they have an advantage when trying to abduct them, because it makes the child think they know them. They also say not to put your child's name on the outside of their backpack.

I agree w/ Andrea C. I recently took a child safety seminar and the police officer told us to remove those "cute kiddo stickers" from the back of our vehicles.

Same reason - advertising for child predators.
I'd think twice before ordering the window decals.

Just one thing to think about. I see those all over the place and while I, too, think they're fun I also decided not to get them for my girls. Think about it: It's like putting a big arrow on your car for child predators and the like. You're telling them your child's name and the name of her sports team/activity. Essentially, you're giving a clue on how to find her. I'd never want some wacko to come up to one of my girls with info gleaned from my car and strike up a conversation. Ultra paranoid, I know. But it is also the reason I would never put out those little wooden yard signs that say the name of my children and their school. Do we really want strangers to have this info about our children? The first time I ever thought about it was when a police officer came to speak to our Lamaze class; he advised us not to put out stork signs or balloons on our mailbox when our children were born because it can attract the wrong kind of attention. Sorry to write a book, I just wanted to mention these things in case you hadn't thought of them. That police officer opened my eyes and I've always appreciated it.

Hi A., I just buy one for my daughter team but the school sell them, so maybe in your daughter dance school you can buy it. If no you can check in the places who sell sports stuff.
