Wiggling Tooth
I just notice my almost 5 year old daughter has her bottom baby tooth wiggling. I am worried about it because to me it seems too early to start to lose her tooth. I also notice redness behind her 2 baby bottom teeth. I called the Dentist but no available until next week. I am concerned and my daughter is even more worried. What it will be your advice?

Most of my daughters' friends lost their first teeth while in kindergarten (so age 5-6) and some as early as 4. So 5 sounds pretty normal to me!

Don't get all worried.
5 isn't an uncommon age for a loose tooth.
Just know that sometimes, it comes and goes. They can lose a tooth then nothing for a while or they lose several at the same time.
It's pretty normal.
Also, I want to mention that a loose or wiggly tooth can take a while to actually come out.
Don't let your daughter get worked up.
My kids got to where they pulled their own teeth for the tooth fairy.
The first one is the scariest.
Best wishes.

Nope, my kids had their teeth fall out early also. My just-turned-6 year old has already lost her 2 bottom teeth (lost them right after she turned 5) and they are already grown in ... and a couple months ago she lost her 2 top teeth as well and has 2 more loose. My best friend's children started losing teeth much later than this so I freaked out too but her dentist said she is perfectly normal :)

My daughter lost her first tooth at 5 y/o. She's 6 1/2 now and has lost 6 teeth so far- the last two within the last few days.

All my grandkids except one had already started losing baby teeth by age 5. It normal for some kids to do that.

Did your daughter get her baby teeth in early? My earliest teether was the earliest to lose teeth. She lost her first at 4 1/2. It was a little scary for her and she took a few days to be willing to put her tooth under her pillow for the tooth fairy. After she lost the first tooth and everything turned out fine, she was calmer about losing her teeth.

My daughter lost her first tooth at 4. Her grandfather is a dentist and assured us that it was completely normal and there was nothing to be concerned with and he was right!

Don't worry, it's completely normal. My only daughter lost her first tooth (middle bottom) at 4 1/2 (literally 4 years and 6 months) -- I freaked out and called the dentist, but they said it's completely normal and no, I didn't need to soak it in milk and take her to an ER -- it wasn't going back in no matter how much my daughter and I weren't ready for this :) So welcome to the world of the tooth fairy. Since your daughter is already worried (as mine was because of my reaction), you might want to make a big deal of the tooth fairy -- grab a fun book about the tooth fairy at the library (we liked "You think it's easy being the tooth fairy?" by Sheri Bell-Rehwoldt) and have the tooth fairy's first visit include a little gift and a little money with a note congratulating her on losing her first tooth. Also, if you have friends with a 1st grader or so, have that child talk to your daughter -- evidently it's the coolest thing in grade-school to lose your teeth. That's what it took to recover from my mommy-mistake of shrieking and nearly calling 911! (There was just a lot of blood...) Oops!!! Good luck with your daughter and hang in there!

I agree with Shane b!!! Don't get all worked up and don't pay money to see the dentist :) Takes over 3 months for a tooth to come out once it wiggly.
